So I was updating my card with some new songs and now all of a sudden I've lost my player on my phone... I use to just hit the side button and it would come up or go into tools and game/applications and the music player was there and now it's gone! I can't stop crying... I only have this as a prepaid phone and for this purpose of a mp3 player Can someone please help! what do I do to get this back. some file that said chris daughtry 3.gn.u. and another one were deleted...but they were song files...not the player! Please help... thanks so much!
I've been trying to get a hold of motorola all morning...it keeps bumping me out of their phone system... argh.......
If I do a hard reset will I lose everything that was done to modify the gain table? would that bring back all the programs that were on the phone ???
Kelli, did you do a backup before doing the mod of the gain table? And if you did more then one mod did you back up each time prior? I believe if you do a hard reset it wil delete the mods you made, but as long as you did a backup you can replace the changes you made to the gain table. It does sound like some how you deleted a file not a song, but that doesn't make a lot of sense with a program like the music player. Before doing a hard reset did you remove the battery with the phone on for at least 5 minutes? then put it back in and see what happened?
I haven't done the hard reset, because I believe it won't bring it back. I do have a backup up the gain table...but I didn't do it. Another member here helped me locally do it,and I really don't want to have to bother him again. All I did was plug in my data cable and highlight a couple of songs and dragged them over to the g drive (memory card) there was a file there that said daughtry.mp4 file and I still have one that says .mdb file. it says mp3player.mdb MDB file 23 KB dang it... motorola says replace the phone it's like got less than 10 hours of talk time on it! this is so frustrating! my games are gone too and I didn't even go into the game folder! And the thing that gets me is this is supposed to be only the stuff that is on the mini sd card- not the phone.... The file I deleted said daughtry in front of it and it had the musicmatch emblem in front of it just like all my other songs
Is there a way for you to move the files back from the memory card to their original location? It almost sounds like the player got dragged over to the card along with the games and now it can't find the path to the folder/files. It sounds like that daughtry file is the player, I can't say for 100% sure though. Have you tried asking anyone at say Motomodders ? maybe they would have the file you can reinstall if you can't drag it back from the G drive.
I don't know... and I can't it anywhere on my hard drive..or in my recycle box I'm a small fry...I don't know anyone on motomodders Charylee is asking a friend for me...but I know there are people here that are really into modification, etc. Sam only helped me increase the ear piece volume..that's it. It's the Digital Music Player that came standard with the phone. I can't believe I didn't think about it and I just deleted the file because I thought it was a song. I can attempt to try the motomodder thing...but if anyone who has a motorola digital audio player can copy the file and send it to me.... I've contacted motorola by email. I'm not hoping for much. If that was the file for the player...I sure would like to know how it got over there because I've never messed with any of that stuff. All I'm doing is dragging files from my hard drive music folder to the music folder on my mini sd card. that's it. I'm sorry I don't mean to whine about this... I'm just devasted. I know it's just a phone..but I had to work my butt off to earn the money to buy it on my own. this is the one I have Music (Motorola V360)
You are not whinning about this, it's a big issue for you or anyone. I don't know anyone at Motomodders but will see if I can find it on my V3xx or my daughters V600 and if it's something I can copy and send to you. It would hurt to post this on Motomodders site just to see if anyone has it handy or a easier solution. I agree I would have thought it would be something that wasn't locked & protected from getting moved. I hope somone else that has more knowlege on this can answer this and hopefully find a easy solution for you.
Thank you for understanding and for checking. I found a player for a razr but I don't know how to install them, etc. I will try and do the motomodders thing if I can't figure something out. Right now I'm just devasted and have a massive headache from crying and tears. Motorola replied back. I pasted below what they said. they said to do a hard reset...but I really don't want to do that without asking or knowing for sure if that'll put the gain table back the way it was plus not bring back the player. I've looked everywhere on my hard drive for those files and they are no where to be found. not sure where files go that you delete off of a sd card. I contacted Sam because I don't want to bug him if I don't have to about meeting up to put my earpiece volume back up. Here's what they told me Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support, we appreciate your request. Thank you very much for your considerations and interest in our products. I've been trying to join modomodders. It keeps coming back saying email already in use, etc. Since I've never signed up before it's kind've hard and unlikely they would have my email...but any suggestions? or would someone who already is a member be so kind to paste my dilema over there? Thanks.
I've never even seen a V360, but from my experience with other Triplets series phones, doing a hard reset should not change the gain table settings. I don't think the player will come back with a hard reset though at this point it seems that it would not hurt to try. The player might come back if it is reflashed, but try a hard reset first. You've already lost the games and other stuff. You've got nothing to loose at this point. Is the phone a factory unlocked model, or is it branded to a particular carrier? -Jay
It was branded to T-Mobile...but I got the unlock code and it is unlocked. Okay I've got nothing to lose...I'll give it a shot Okay I just did it... nope it didn't come back....but it didn't mess with the gain table so the earpiece volume is still loud. I found a razr type player...but I don't know how to get them installed...where it says java install new application. I have no clue...at a lost. I did see your message though...I might not have a choice .... this is just nuts I'm telling you. Where would the files have gone? games and all?
NONE of you will believe this but my files are on my hard drive. Somehow Windows Media Player started syncing with my phone and moved them from the phone to the computer I found my cell phone pinball game on my hard drive What the !!!! How do I get these to sync back? I can't believe this!
I've had no luck. I've tried other digital players from other moto phones and they just won't work From my understanding if someone with a v360 and pktools is able to get a copy off of their phone - then a .jar file will give me back the application. ??? I think..... If anyone with a v360 is capable of this- I would be forever grateful. I've tried for help on howard forums too (thanks for the rec), but no luck yet. Jay I haven't heard back from anyone. thanks for listening... this has not been the best week
Kelli, I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I believe Ellen has a V360, maybe you can contact her. Good luck.
Yes it was the original Digital Audio player that came on the phone., but I haven't been able to locate the original software to reinstall it. Any ideas?
I also found a kd player that will install on my phone just fine, but can't figure out anyway to get the songs seen it just says empty, empty do I need to install on the phone? instead of the SD card? or is this a common issue with this program? thanks!
have you seriously been trying to do this for a year and a half wow that's dedication. The V360 was a great phone though so I don't blame you Wish I still had mine I would send it to you.
Yep I've been at it for awhile now. I'm only prepaid, so I really have no need to change phones. I think I only have like 10 hours of talk time on this v360--and I really like it. I can find every other kind of digital audio player in rar format for Motorola other than the one that came with my phone. so frutrating. I found another motorola player but it says initialising and never gets past about 95 % so I don't think it works. This digital player was like a purple/brown player with Golden tone text to it. I appreciate your offer though... I'm starting to think the only way I'm going to get this is to buy another one for cheap off of ebay.
