Verizon isurance has held my phone for almost two months and cost me thousands in lost jobs as that phone had my buisness number and all of my contacts.

I moved this to the Verizon forum.

Do you have any more details that would help other people avoid that predicament themselves?

Well, first off, VZW does not have "insurance." Like every other carrier I have ever heard of, insurance is provided by a third-party carrier, namely Asurion in this case.

Secondly, what idi you expect? Once the phone is exchanged under the insurance program it is gone. It is not "repaired" and sent back to you. If this data was so important, you did purchase and use a backup program, or back the data up to your computer, right? RIGHT? If not, frankly you get what is coming to you.

Verizon has a free app called Backup assistance. On your phone,go to media, browse and downloads. It should
show up when you open.If not, go to get app, buisness tools, and it will be in there. This is free service from Verizon and will eliminate the contacts issue in the future.
