I am in the process of helping my senior parents replace their exisiting phones. The currently have an old nextel phone that has an excellent speaker phone and rings real loud. They would like to stay with nextel because they have heard that they have the best equipment when it comes to speaker phones. Does anyone have any suggestions on a new phone? Additionally, do any other provders have phones that ring real loud and have good speaker phone capabilities?
I think Verizon's V710 is even better. Very clear and loud in my personal experience. Competes very nicely with any Nextel phone.
i had the lg vx4500 and it had a great speakerphone and LG makes phones with the loudest ringers...the treo 650 doesn't have a great speakerphone, but thats something I was willing to let go because of the smartphone features....try www.phonescoop.com for phones with great speakers
the 5600 has one of the best/loudest speakerphones ive ever heard in a cell phone. it is very comparable to one of nextels speakers...another good thing about it is that its located on the front of the phone instead of the back where motorola and most other phone companies put their speakerphones. it doesnt make sense to put them on the back of the phone because when you sit it down it muffles the volume of the ringtones
if they want a simple no frills phone then the v60s for verizon has and awesome speakerphone capability, you can get them at some radio shacks but nextel i would say comes first .
The Sony Ericsson t610a has a really loud ringer and a pretty good speakerphone. You can use Mp3s for the ringtones too so the seniors can jam to their favorite 50 cent songs... This phone works with Cingular and tmobile.
If they like their Nextel phones then they should stay with Motorola handsets. I would suggest the Motorola V551 or the Motorola V710 as excellent phones. I have the V551 and the ringtones are loud, the buttons are a little larger and spaced out more than most cell phones. The speakerphone is loud as well. Good luck! Jay
