I changed my number about 3 years ago and no there was no charge at that time. I'm still pretty sure it's free but I'm not 100%.
Hey Sbacklin, how is Sprint coverage in the Seattle area these days? I remember a few years back you weren't satisfied with them. Did the Qwest deal improve coverage?
Okay, just for all who cares, you all can call me Steve, Steven is my first name, I never liked anybody calling me by my last name, which is Backlin. I never liked the sound of it, lol. The username SBacklin is something I use as a username for just about all things, lol. Anyway, onto your question Larry. The few times I been in Downtown Seattle, coverage has been great. Although, I can't say for sure if it was improvement since last time I had Sprint. Usually carriers have good coverage in "downtown" enviroments of major cities. In my travels south of Seattle and east of Seattle, coverage has been great. My phone only auto-roamed when I was up north for an hour in Marysville, WA which is just north of Everett, WA. I was just probably in a dead spot. Down south in Bonney Lake though, I had to force my phone to roam on VZW. Sprint in the location I was at didn't drop out, there was just enough signal to register service on my phone. There are still a few well known dead spots which I contribute to topography of the area but, with free roaming, I have that option which helps out. So overall, coverage has been great, my call quality I do notice is A LOT better than when I had Sprint a few years back. I am actually happy with their service now. It's just the CS can use a bit of improvement but, since I really don't have reasons to call them, I am happy with the service and don't have to deal with CS.
