    Hello all,

My 2125 bit the dust (after I dropped it several times...). The LCD is cracked, I could have replaced it with one from Ebay but nothing else on it works either, just a white screen with crack marks.

I don't qualify for an upgrade but do for a "discount". I think I'd rather shop around for my own phone, new or used, ebay or retailer. The phone rep said if it's not a Cingular branded phone, even if it's unlocked most likely it won't have an internet connection. I don't think that's exactly accurate, is it?
What do I have to look for in a phone for it to work on the Cingular network?
Do I just pop my Sim card and the unlocked phone will work?
Does it have to be another 2125 for the address book to show up?
    Thanks for any help!
    Jamie

As long as the phone's ability to modify data settings is not locked (as T-Mobile does) you're likely to find someone able to help you with setting it up. Nokia phones can be configured automatically from Nokia web site.

When I swap my Cingular 2125 SIM to a used Cingular phone (different model like a KRZR), will all my contacts be viewable?

How about if is a new unlocked KRZR?

    Thanks

(I think this needs a new topic)

As long as you saved your contacts to your SIM (and not just on your phone) then yes, the contacts will follow the SIM to your new phone. It does not have to be another 2125.

Only name and phone numbers are saved to the SIM card contact information however; so if you have street addresses, e-mail addy's, etc. you will have some rebuilding to do from transferring contacts in this manner.

If you used ActiveSync on your PC, you can start a new partnership with your new phone if it is Windows Mobile based.
