Hey guys well, i don't know what to do. I was thinking about getting the SE S710a if it ever comes out.. But i have heard that the full retail is about 500 dollers. ×××× thats alot, its a nice phone though. I just got a Kyocera QCP 6035 for my Verizon line because i wanted to try out a PDA got it off of ebay for 24 dollers LOL.. I really like it other then its really really old, no color or technology.. I was thinking about getting one for CIngular since this is my primary Account that i use the most.. BUT do PDA's get as good RF and Voice as a regular cell phone does? Is a PDA worth it? I want one with Color, Bluetooth, MP3 player and a camera and all the high tech stuff. I can't upgrade until 2006 April so i can't wait that long but i will make alot of extra money during the summer, and also get 40% off all phones and equipment. Booo ya! It nice to have.. So any suggestings? Are they worth it? (p.S. would use it for school and work) If so any models out now or about summer that you guys would suggest? Thanks, Brian

P.S. poll is for if i was going to buy it soon but would probaly wait please feel free to add any that i forgot to add or don't know about that are coming..

p.S. if you want to see phone go towww.cingular.com

and put in area code (91941) to see my choices..

Oh ya got so excited about PDA's i forgot to ask how can i check email and go on internet on these things? I have a wireless router at home if that helps any. Also i would have to buy the Data plan from Cingular right? Does what in include voice to? Can someone explain this to me please?

I'll answer a few of those questions. Take a look at the Treo 650- currently available for Sprint only but GSM version coming (sometime). A ton of info can be found on Palms web site as well as www.treocentral.com . It has all of the features you mentioned. You can check your email via an included program called Versamail (exchange, pop, IMAP etc) . Full web access is available as well.

Cingular should be selling the new Motorola Smartphone I would suggest that one, as for the treo 650, it has a few reported glitches:

    Treo 650 glitches

I hope they are worked out before other carriers launch the phone next year.

My boss has a PDA/phone...they seem so clunky to me...I know it's because it's a PDA, but I like the feel of my streamlined cell phone.

Also, there was one day where his phone was on the fritz, he had to have it serviced and it resulted in him not having his PDA for 2 days! I think that the more that a piece of technology can do, the more potential that can go wrong with it. It was like the VCR/TV models. If the VCR went out, you had no TV until the VCR was fixed.

Just my 2 cents worth, but I think having the PDA separate from the phone isn't necessarily a bad thing...

There are a disproportionate # of techno-geeks that magnify the problems with the Treo 650 into huge problems (like many things on the internet in my opinion). It works fine as is for most users in my opinion. In fact, a co-worker of mine bought one after she saw mine and was just telling me today how amazed she is with it's capabilities.

I swear, where do you get all this money to buy all these phones and services?? LOL

There are people who will put expensive equipment including PDA's on some homeowner's or rental insurance packages they own. However, usually they cannot claim the item unless it was damaged by fire, flood, or unless it was stolen during a robbery. I would advise doing that. The deductible could be high and your rates may go up with each claim.

If you already have VZW, check out the TREO 600 or PPC-6600. Some VZW users already claim they got the PPC-6600 although I'm not sure where from. You can get mobile phone insurance on those.
