i've got 3 lines on my att account. 2 of them are for my 15 and 21 year olds. they text more than they talk. i had the 1400/month with unlimited text but could not send pics. we accumulated over 10,000 rollover minutes. so, i changed our plan to the 700/month with a $30.00 unlimited messaging/month. if i understand correctly, now ontop of the $30.00/month charge for unlimited i don't quite know what, i will now have to pay-per-use for texting and pics!!!! i just want a plan that charges ONE set price for the chosen number of talk minutes and TRULY unlimited text and pic messaging. i do not want to surf the internet blah, blah. PLEASE HELP ASAP. i've got the feeling i'm am going to get royally screwed on my next bill

The $30/mo is for unlimited messaging which includes texting. It may or may not include picture or video messages. I'm not sure about that.

thanks jay. it's supposed to include text and pic messaging. but now i've got a $2.00 monthly charge on my phone and if i'm reading the confusing explanation att has sent, i'm going to have to pay extra/month for anything over 2MBs. 2 mb's is the equiv. of about 2,000 kb's. most of the pics in my phone are 300 kb. so after sending 6-7 pics am i going to be charged $2.00 more for every 6 pics sent? and i think they're gonna charge 20 cents or a quarter for text messages. the plan descriptions i've read are confusing and seem deceitful....

the pic message or MMS are included in the plan...as are IM (instant messaging thru aim ir icq and the like) what is not covered is when the user logs on the media net accidental or otherwise... keep in mind that if the kids are instant messaging.... the phone has to log into a server somewhere thus generating said charges

Multimedia messages are included in all messaging plans. You need a data connection to send and receive multimedia messages. If you have data blocked, multimedia messages will fail. There are no extra data charges for sending and receiving mulltimedia messages. You have to have at least data pay per use enabled to allow multimedia messages to travel. If you use the built-in application on many AT&T-branded phones, there will be no data charges for instant messages either, Accidental or intentional other data use cost a minimum of $2.00 for the first megabyte, This is compared to $0.01 per kilobytes ($10.24/MB) at the previous data pay per use rate.
