I have a new LG 6100 through Verizon. The regular bell ringer sounds leave much to be desired. I would like a good, loud, regular bell sounding ringer. One here said they knew of the old Western Electric 2500 sounding ringer that could be found somewhere. Any ideas on where that ringer might be found? Preferably free? Thank you! Mark
I saw some on "Yamaha Ringtones" has several I think...1st go to "fun tones" then "normal ringtones". Also check out "My Tonz" & "X-Ringer". I checked em all out and these were the sites that seemed to have the most normal ringers.
You looking for this? I made this myself, recorded from one of my Western Electric 2500's. EDIT: Link removed. Please look at post #5 of this thread for a download link to the ringtone...

The mp3 file sounds great on my computer, but not so on the phone as a ringer. Could this be because it needs to be converted to a mid file? I have a bell ring tone I sent to my phone via a site, and it is in a mid format. I don't like that tone as much as this mp3 ring tone. Could this be the problem? I'd love to get this Western Electric ring tone to work on the phone! Thanks again. Mark
How I have it posted is exactly how I have it on my V551 and it sounds great. I don't think it would sound good at all downgraded to a .mid.
Thanks, I made it myself. It is a recording of one of my old Western Electric 2500's ringing. I collect vintage landline phones so it just serves to reason that my cell phone would sound like a vintage phone. -Jay
Depends on your make & model of phone. Check out our manufacturer forums for info on how to put ringtones on your phone. -Jay
thanks for your reply jay; i appreciate it. but when I clicked on the link, I was redirected to itunes--I heard the ringtone, but then heard Terry Gross of the npr radio show Fresh Air. can you help me out on this possibly? thanks, Kathy
We are not partnered with iTunes. The file is hosted on our own servers. There has to be something on your computer doing this.
