Although I am not seeing anything yet that makes the iPhone 5 special over all ther OS, but I am sure the iFans will and make it a "huge" success. Source:
At this point, they can just produce the same exact phone, call it the iPhone6, and plenty of people will trade in their old phones to upgrade to it. There's enough folks out there that want the newest iPhone, no mater how few improvements it has over the previous version.
I'm also tired of all the blah-blah-blah surrounding each iPhone release, but it's got to die out sooner or later. On the other hand, if someone is happy with a certain line of phone, then why not upgrade? I got the first Motorola Droid phone ~2 years ago, and now just upgraded to the Droid 3. Mainly because there's not much choice when it comes to slider phones with full QWERTY physical keyboard, but also because it's just a good phone series, and an upgrade meant more internal storage for apps, faster dual-core processor, better screen, etc. Nothing to get hysterically excited about, but anyway nice. I'll probably upgrade to the Droid 4 or 5 in two years when I can get a subsidized phone again. I have no idea why Droid releases are so "quiet" in the media, and iPhone releases given unrelentless coverage The Samsung Galaxy line is getting more press lately as it's surged in popularity. I guess that's why Apple took them to court instead of Motorola....
Apple has not made any official announcement on its much-awaited iPhone but rumors and speculations around it keep coming. According to the rumors, iPhone 5 will feature a 4-inch Retina display, an A5X Variant chip, 1GB RAM, iOS 6, 4G LTE technology, Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, improved Siri, liquid metal casing, an 8 megapixel (or even higher) rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and a much-improved battery life. Apart from this there are many expectations like tactile touch screen, Liquid Lens Camera, Quantum-Dot LED Screen, Solar Charging, Transparent Display, and MHL connector. These are just expectations of Apple fans and if in case Apple can satisfy their fans, then it’s no wonder, the unit sales will exceed those of the iPhone 4S by 25 percent in the device's first quarter at market.
I have had all of the iPhone's released EXCEPT the 4s. It was the first iPhone that came out that I didn't feel they really made enough changes to warrant an upgrade. Siri, and improved display wasn't worth $300+ to me. I know that Siri has some great perks, but for me it was hundreds of dollars for my phone to talk to me... I do hope (and think) they will make enough adjustments for me to upgrade to the newest one though. ~*Ash*~
There is absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to an OS if it works for you, from my personal experience however, I get bored easily with the sameness and have never kept a device for 2 years. . Apple rarely makes a "wow" change but takes rather concervative steps which also does have it's merits btw.
Good point. What's odd, I guess, is that all the media and iFans always gives a "wow" reaction to their conservative changes...
So there's a thousand complaints about the iPhone's screen being too small and not supporting LTE, and how its inconceivable that people would still buy an iPhone instead of an Android phone, then when the rumors suggest the next iPhone will have both, the excitement is a surprise?
I'm always happy to complain about iPhone screen being too small. However, what matters to me is that it's too narrow and nothing has changed in that regard.
This is why the iPhone has become so popular with the older market though. My parents will stay loyal to iPhones for years, I suspect. Unless I convince them otherwise. It takes them so long to learn new technology that once they get something down, they don't want any major changes. ~*Ash*~
My Droid 1 had a 3.7" screen and single-core processor. When I got my Droid 3 I found the 4" screen and dual-core processor a nice improvement, but I can't say I was complaining much about my old phone. It's a phone, it's evolving, each new iteration is a little better than the last. I'm not "excited" when this happens, because I'm actually kind of expecting this to happen.
