I posted about the ridiculous Voce Wireless service for dumb, rich people. Now that Voce is gone, I bring you the obscenely expensive wireless phones thread or: How I Learned To Love The Bling And Stop Worrying. Let's kick it off with the Diamond Crypto Luxury Smartphone which costs $1.3 million. Then we have the GoldVish Diamond Encrusted Phone and, also from GoldVish, the Illusion From Motorola we have the Dolce & Gabanna RAZR and the RAZR² V8 Luxury Edition, which aren't nearly as expensive as the diamond encrused handsets above, but are still pretty expensive for us "normal" folk. Know about some crazy expensive phones? Post them in this thread.
How about a $7,500 gold Apple iPhone? Apple iPhone Gold Diamond 16GB unlocked 24 Karat NEW! - eBay (item 370070953700 end time Jul-31-08 06:36:49 PDT)
These phones are absurd. How are you going to feel when your ridiculously expensive phone gets lost, broken, or stolen? Instead of wasting money on these phones they should contribute to worthwhile charity. I did notice the Nokia N96 which appears to be a very nice and capable device even if it doesn't have platinum or gold surfaces with diamonds glued to them. Perhaps it's time for me to adopt a new GSM phone....
In his defense, are any of us actually "normal"? On topic tho, my mom is obsessed with "The Real Housewives of Orange County" (It's a show on Bravo), and one of the housewives has the D&G Razr, My mom could not believe how much those things cost when I told her. ~*Ash*~
Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for any damages caused by the massive amounts of sarcasm in this post. Yes, but then you're just left with a gold phone... you don't get the fabulous D&G Ringtones, Wallpaper, and Charm for your phone... Not to mention the amazing D&G Gold Carrying Case... ~*Ash*~
I can find the ringtones and wallpaper on the internet. The charm and case? I'm sure I can buy a fake D&G charm and case at the flea market rather cheap. Savings? Several hunderd dollars, and I could do it so the average layperson would have no clue. -Jay
Is there any kind of subsidy on the million dollar phone??? $750,000 for a One Year agreement or $250,000 for Two Years?.... I don't care how much platinum and how many diamonds are on that POS, NO phone is worth a million dollars, not even the iPhone, IMO... That phone reminds me of a Nokia 6682.
It may be expensive compared to other phones out there, but at least it doesn't carry a six-digit price tag. Not only that, but at least the N95 is functional, compared to the dysfunction of the over-prices POS phones linked prior in this thread. Those are ridiculous.
If Paris Hilton can buy a $3000 bag for Tinkerbell, I'm sure the won't mind losing an iPhone that costs $7500 if she had one. She'll just order another one. No big deal. When you have a fortune worth millions, a few thousand $$ is like pennies.
True. I still think it's unnecessary to spend nearly that much on a phone. Also Tinkerbell is a pathetic and spoiled creature.
We had a saying in the Army. "You can polish a turd and make it look nice, but its still a turd" Im gonna but one of those cheap Nokia 1600 that doesnt even have a colored screen then buy a bedazzler and sell it on ebay and for $5000.
When you come right down to it there's absolutely nothing that your "indignation" will do to make people with money spend their money the way you think it should be spent. The court of public opinion has a pretty weak record of shaming celebrities into doing something better for someone else or being more fiscally prudent. And who's to say that if you didn't have gobs of money that you couldn't think of ways to spend it that you wouldn't do the same thing as Paris or any other "spoiled" celebrity.
Telekom mentioned the Vertu so I thought I would post the link. As most WA readers probably know, it is a subsidiary of Nokia. I didn't find prices in a few minutes of poking around on the Vertu website, but according to Wikipedia: SW
And now, an expensive phone I actually want. Motorola V9m Ferrari Edition. Of course, I'd look like a poseur if I wasn't driving one of these before I bought the phone.
Woah!!! that's a nice looking phone. No way would I pay that much for a phone like that, but then again, I'm waiting for the Blackberry Bold. Another expenive phone is the Nokia 8800. Its not fully decked out like the other phones, but it does have some interesting things on it. Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte Description Here's a site I found that has the gold iPhone as Jay said at the beginning of this thread. http://www.amosu.co.uk/ I thought it was funny that they had a Samsung D900
Just for info sake, I believe I dwnld the D&G Rom from modmymoto. My wife has a pink razr and the gold D&G rom. With some tools and patience, you can have the Full D&G experience. She has had the rom for about 4 months, works like a charm, can even search for other twrs in the area!!! Sweet:browani:
