I used to have a Motorola StarTAC before I switched to VoiceStream and got a Nokia 3390. One great thing about the StarTAC is that it would filter out background noise when I was speaking. So when I was driving, the person I was on the phone with could not hear the noise of my car or radio, etc.

Now with the Nokia 3390 (and I have also noticed this with the Nokia 5160 and 5165), my voice comes through with all of the background noise. People can hear the sound of me driving as well as my radio and other noises. I was wondering if there was a way to enable voice filtering (is this the correct term?) on Nokia phones?

I know how to switch to full enhanced rate by keying in *3370#. This does improve the sound quality, however it does not filter out the background noise like the StarTAC used to. Is this even possible to do on a Nokia?
