Why is it that Nokia cannot keep the same recharger connection for their phones? Everytime you upgrade you have another charger left - hanging around the house!!

Also relevant for car chargers - are they the same or not?

What are you talking about? Since 1997 Nokia has the same charger connection and charger up to my 6230 (4 phone generations). Over the same time period, Moto has changed 3 times. The current V551 connector is not the same as the new Moto low end phones. Maybe you mean the pop port for the headsets.

I am not sure what you mean. The ACP7U is the universal US travel charger for all Nokia models CDMA or GSM.

Also the LCH-12, is the Universal vehicle charger for all Nokias.

PS: My Moto T720 (CDMA) and my V66(GSM) did not have the same charger. I haven't kept track of the newer ones. I think the RAZR does not have the same charger as the V600, a RAZR owner please correct me if I am wrong.

Are the Nokis chargers different for different models in the UK?

In the UK - they must be different - very confusing. Though to their credit they have kept the good menu format the same throughout.

Most Motorola phones have utilized the same charger since the release of the V series phones several years ago. My V551 uses the same chargers as my old V60t. The Razr is different I think, I've never looked at one up close though.

Not according to the Nokia UK website. The same connector is used in UK as here in the US. http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,18368,00.html and the same on one used on my old Nokia from 1997.

This page list two travel chargers, same connectors, and the phone lists overlap. I think your confused by the shape of the transformer that plugs into the wall. As long as the output voltage is ~3.7Volts for the wall charger and up to 5.7V for the car charger, you'll be ok. So even though you old phone may no longer be listed, it will work.

The plug on a Moto V180 is different than the V551, more like a Nokia plug.

The US and the UK have DIFFERENT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. Your US toaster can't be plugged into a UK electric outlet and vice versa.

I had to give my friend his Chrarger converter but it is the SAME CHARGER for his v620 for the UK as my dance coaches v120 from the US. Its the WALL SOCKET CONNECTION that is different.

  11. All 4 of the nokia phones i've ever owned use the same charger (tdma) and they charge my sisters nokia verizon phone (cdma) and my dads cingular (gsm) phone.

Been away for a while, and sorry about the confusion - I was actually meaning the in car rechargers. These are different. Now, of course the connection is actually thinner than the older version. I have photos if you want them.

And my friend still has an analogue one! Nokia 2110!!!

Actually, some of the newest Nokias do have a different connector. I have been using the same Nokia chargers for years however I am considering purchasing one of the 6101s when TMO releases them. In my research, I found that they do indeed have a different connector.

There is now an AC-3U and DC-4charger which has a smaller connector than the older ACP-7U, ACP-12U, and LCH-12 chargers. The Nokia website also has a CA-4A adaptor which "Enables you to use your existing Nokia chargers with the new Nokia phones with smaller charger interface; Can be used with Nokia LCH-12, AC-1U, ACP-12U, ACP-7U, ACP-8U and ACP-9U chargers". I suspect most newer Nokias will have this new interface so we'll all eventually change. But, as most here have said, Nokia has used the same charger for YEARS. I think since my first Nokia, it hasn't changed.

So here for all Nokia chargers:
    http://www.nokiausa.com/nokia_accessories/chargers/1,2231,,00.html#73

European site has same chargers with different plugs here: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,5184,5996,00.html

I know my V551 & my wifes T-720 are the same charger, but my daughters V220 has a different charging plug, more in the lines of the Nokia's.
All of our Nokia's use the exact same charger.
