Someone gave me a Nokia phone. But when I tried to activate the phone they said it was lost or stolen. Is there anyway to activate this phone now or is it worthless?

As a CellularONE (dobson) employee - Once we recieve a call of a cell phone being lost/stolen we "hotline" the phone, meaning suspend all activity for coming in and going out, and if the phone is found, and tried to reactivate, when the new carrier or old carrier enters the phones "esn" number into their computer switch, it throws a flag that the phone is either lost or stolen and wont let us activate the phone until we "unhotline" the phone first
