Accidents can still happen and I want to protect the corners. I always do a case if I am going to be in the field or going out of town. As it turns down the cyan is on back order with no release date.

For the rest of the time, the cyan will add a splash of color to my black Lumia; this way I will have a cyan or a black Lumia depending on which strikes my fancy that day. :D

Charlyee, great write up on your new Lumia. Sounds like it has worked out well for you so far. I finally saw one in Best Buy the other day. I was a little surprised by it's size. I put my 4S on top of the Lumia and my 4S almost disappeared. While I love the screen size and how it felt in my hand, I don't think I could get use to the size of it. I would probably have to use it without a case otherwise I don't think it would slip in and out of my skinny jeans very easily.

Are you finding that more apps are being added to the store at this point? I would miss Tapatalk but I read that there is an alternative app so that's cool.

Yes, the larger size is hard to get used to. I sure complained about Vivid after the Atrix and that was only a difference of 0.5".

I am not missing any apps other than Bedside as I mentioned, I don't even know if it exists in iOS, does it? So I guess I don't know if more apps are getting added. Lol

The Tapatalk alternative is Board Express, it is not as feature rich but improvements are being made to it all the time. :)

Do you mean this "bedside" medical app? :D

Here are a few others in the iOS app store as well. Not sure if one of these are what you're looking for, Charlyee.

Lol, not a Medical app, not even remotely.

Thanks IR, the Bedside app I am looking for is just like the built in one in the Bleckberrys.

Just curious: does the Windows Phone app store have Skype? Also, is there a website that I can visit on my PC that shows what apps are available for WP?

Thanks :) It looks a little spare compared to the Android app-store, but in a way that's kind of good because it makes me want to build apps for it :D It's always fun to be the first into uncharted territory

BTW: I looked, but I didn't see any kind of app similar to Cellumap, that shows cellular network info like Cell ID, signal strength, etc. Do you know of any app for WP like that? Or can you see that kind of info somewhere natively in WP?

    Go for it :D

According to the media reports it just reached 100,000 apps.

I don't believe there is anything like cellumap native to WP7, but I am still learning. Go ahead make a splash, you know where to find a beta tester aka guinea pig. ;)

Yea, the WP app store looks like it has most basic apps, and I'm sure the count will only increase over time. I'm just used to seeing dozens of different apps come up when I search for something, instead of maybe only 5-10.

Don't tempt me guys :p If I start looking into it, then I'll have to follow thru and make a WP app:browani: But that would mean buying a WP device. And the Lumia form-factors aren't really appealing to me. I really liked Nokia's E7, as I liked the design and it had a QWERTY keypad which is important to me, but it was running Symbian which was a deal breaker :O Actually, I just stocked up on some SonyEricsson and Motorola Android phones, so I'm kind of set for now. But if Nokia released the E7 with WP OS, I'd buy it in a second :D

Nokia sent another update to fix the purple tinge issue on low brightness setting that some people where having, I didn't.

A fellow forumite pointed out the update to me - thanks budney. ;)

The update went smooth via Windows Connector.

So far I have updated my phone for problems I never encountered but one cannot ever say no to an update. :D

    First Impressions:

    Scrolling is faster yet
    Boot up time is faster
    The whites are whiter?
    The camera focuses quicker.

They can, if they are using a jailbroken iDevice and the update would unjailbreak it.

Those pics are as good as the ones taken in a digital camera. But what surprises me even more is the fact that the lumia takes such good photos and not the 808 PureView phone which is supposed to have 41 mega pixel camera. I have seen samples of photos taken from that model and those were not as good as the above ones.

    Thanks :)

Yes the Windows Marketplace(App Store) offers Whatsapp. Btw, it is no longer call "Windows Mobile". It is a totally new OS called "Windows Phone". ;)
