    Question:

Does the installed car kit for the 3589i have a connector for an external antenna, or does it just use the retractable antenna on the phone? I know LG and Motorola car kits do, but I cannot find this information for the Nokia car kit.

    Thanks all........

No antenna connection on 3589. [IMG] If it had one I would have already replaced my 3285 with one. From what I can tell the 6585 does support an external antenna, but the million dollar question is will VZW carry any version of that phone.

Probably not soon enough to sell a Nokia to our company. Looks like I'll be hanging out in the LG forum soon. I told the guy over company phones if he gave me a Moto730 he wouldn't get the christmas goodies my wife makes this year. So......LG here we come.

I don't get why don't they put a connection for an external antenna more on wireless phones? They are using less and less power. I see that being ok in Metros since they are building towers every 2 blocks or so. Being in rural that is not the case and they need more power in some areas when traveling. You would think you would see more connections for external antenna since the wattage on phones are going down, not up.

I would have thought so too. With all of the states with distracted driving laws. I suppose there's not that much money in installed kits anymore.
