T-Mobile is the official carrier of the Nokia 9290. You can purchase it directly off of the Nokia website too, for $599, but you can purchase it from me aswell for around $575, not much difference, but a little.

    IMHO:

For well under $500, I could get a DAMNED good phone and a more than adequate PDA. Yeah, you've gotta carry two devices, but the way I see it...at least if one goes, the other doesn't too. I don't know where you are in Upstate NY, but I'm in Rochester, working at a Cingular store. A bunch of customers dropped us in the last month since T-mo showed up, and right now a large number are coming crying back to us. If you don't get the signal you need, all you have is a $500+ PDA. And if I paid that much for a PDA, it better make sweet love to me every night.

Where in upstate NY are you anyway blu?

Not sure how T-mo is out there.

If you plan on using it in the city and on 90, you're set, if you plan on travelling at all...well...i think we've discussed this already, you should go with two separate phones.

Rochester? I'm going to be going to school in Geneseo, and I have an unlocked GSM phone from Taiwan, and I hope to use it with T-Mobile. Does anyone know about T-mo service in Geneseo (30 mi south of Rochester on I-390)

    Sprint, Verizon(former), ATT(former),
isn't Geneso in the middle of nowere in Upstate NY?

My opinion: Go Verizon or Cingular TDMA in easte bumblefluck upstate NY. You will be better off.

What I think you should do: Stop into a TMobile store. Get the zip code? 1#### for Geneseo. Tell them you want to see the internal company website coverage for the area. They will show it to you if they want your business. Make half your decision of that. The other half should be made by informal survey of the people on that campus and in the town as to what the best service in the area there is.
