I just looked at Cingulars web site and found the 6682 listed there again. I hope they fixed all the things they messed up the first time around. As someone who owns this phone (A Nokia Unbranded Version), PS I would NOT rush out and buy this for a few weeks until the "unsuspecting" general public experiments with it first! Here are the specs: Weight: 4.62 ounces Dimensions: 4.27 x 2.17 x 0.81 inches Battery: Lithium Ion Technology: 850/1800/1900 MHz Tri-band GSM/GPRS Warranty: 1 yr on the phone and accessories All talk, data and standby times are approximate and depend on network configuration Instant Messaging: AOL, Yahoo and ICQ Try and buy content on extended memory card: MobiTV, Nokia Sports, Wayfinder Mobile Map Guide and more Video capture and video editor software digital music player with stereo audio Music Tone ringtones POP3/IMAP4 email access with preloads Email attachment viewing: .doc, .xls and .ppt Calendar, calculator, contacts, alarm and stopwatch

Good find Steve. Considering it was Cingular's software that was messing up this fantastic phone, I am glad Cingular had the good sense to upgrade the software and bring the phone back. It's a great phone and I really like it. It is going to be difficult to give the 6682 up when I get the N80, maybe not, not for my dream phone , quad series 60
 Wow that's good news I am due for an upgrade,is the phone worth $300.00 and how does it work with a Motorola headset? Thanks Joe
Joe, If it is within your budget, DON'T hesitate for a second. This is the BEST phone I have ever owned, bar none. No issues, no problems, nothing but great joy and better service. This is a keeper. Even when the N80 comes out and Charlyee and I are making ANOTHER visit to credit card city again,:loony:, I will keep this phone!! Steve
Thanks Steve, I don't mind paying good money for a phone if it is worth it. It is bigger than the V551 how bulky is it in your pocket? Charlyee spoke highly of this phone when I asked her and I was always a fan of Nokia's Joe
It is a perfect size for a bar phone. It is not much bigger the the 551, which I owned, and loved, by the way! Here are the specs below: Moto-V551 Dimensions (H x W x D) : 3.5 x 1.9 x 0.9 inches Weight : 4.3 oz. Nokia 6682 Weight: 4.62 ounces 4.23 inches long x 2.19 inches wide x 0.86 inch thick You really have to be good to tell the difference between--.39 oz.!! It will fit fine in the pocket, but there are great Krussel cases available too!
GIVING NEW LIFE TO CHARLYEE'S REVIEW She said: I got the 6682 24 hours back and played with it for about 18 hours. I really like the phone, here are some details: 1. First Impression: a. Solidly built with beautiful satin finish. b. Could be a little less wide - but coming from the 6230 everything seems big. 2. Pros: a. Fantastic reception, specially in the known bad areas. b. Call clarity is excellent and loud. c. Speaker phone is excellent. c. Lots of customization possible. d. Beautiful large screen. e. Excellent Mp3 player. I have deleted all her cons, sorry, I am a sales guy!!! :browani:
Steve is doing such a great job of selling you on this phone that I don't have much to add. One things that I wanted to re-emphasize was that we live in a rather poor reception area, and from every place in our house the reception is crystal clear. I have never owned a phone that did this and no Cingular did not add any towers in our area recently..... Since I am not rolling in money like Steve, I have to sell mine when I get the N80, so I can only hope that the N80 will have as good a reception as the 6682, if not I will have to forget the N80 and use the Z520i overseas.
Thanks again Steve, the cons have to be few, the last Nokia I owned was my blue 6200 I loved the phone and it was bullet proof. My only gripe I have with phones that have removeable faceplates is dust that can build up inside the screen. Other than that I plan on buying this phone but I will heed Charlyee's advice and wait a few weeks. Joe
Check with me first Charlyee before you sell the 6682, with the holidays and my 500.00 repair bill for my truck I need to back off of my spending for awhile. But if I have not bought one by the time you sell yours I am sure we can work something out. One other thing I need to add I am mainly leery of spending big money on a phone and than find out in April that my service improvement was a leaf issue, now I own a 300.00 paper weight. I don't need to go on but my service was a horror show last year and I will not go through that again. Joe
I will keep that in mind definitely. BTW: Since I am not a sales person, here are my cons and they are minor but still true: Cons: a. Maybe the size. b. My fingers hit the lens cover release button when I am on a call. c. The 6230 had a in-call volume button on the side which was more convienient than the usual navigation button. d. There is no unlocking available for the 6682 yet. One additonal Pro is the camera, it takes excellent pictures.
Since I am not really sure if Charlyee gave up engineering and went into comedy,:rasp: I will say that we have discussed this phone in depth and we are both crazy about it. I wish I could contribute more, but I need to go see a dermatologist, because I have a very bad RASH from all the money I have been rolling in.........see ya! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Just to add another 2 cents to this thread, I called care to order the phone with my upgrade and AAA discount it could be had for 269.00 but I cancelled the order because I received an e-mail from Cingular that it is backordered??? and they are not sure how long. Now how can a phone be put back on sale and 2 days later they are out of stock, is there that high of a demand for them? Like I said to Charlyee I am not getting any clear answers from care I get a confused tone in their voice when I ask a question like why the website does not recognize my order number and why 3 reps each gave me a different order number. I will say all 3 reps were polite and helpful they just seemed misinformed and I also remained calm getting upset will not solve anything. Anyway sorry for the long post and I don't want to sound like I am complaining just wanting to share my experience with you on my attempt to purchase this phone. Hope you all had a good day today. Joe
