Nokia 6590, can you exhange covers w/ 8390???

    I see that they are pretty much the same phone, but is it possible to buy an 8390 cover for the 6590? Any tried? Any......????

    I never had an 8390 and so don't know firsthand, but I saw on Howard Chui's Reviews that they're not exchangeable. He says:

    Apparently you can make them fit with a little work. Someone on one of the howard forums got his 8390 faceplate on the 6590, but he had to clip and file some of the plastic tabs.

    I bought a conversion cover for my 8390 to look like a 6590 from eBay for about $10 or $15 with shipping, and I couldn't be happier. It is actually ordered from Hong Kong. The keypad is a darker color than the real 6590's lighter colored keypad, that's the only difference I noticed. You might want to search for 6510 on eBay instead of 6590... that's how I found my auction! FYI, 6510 is the identical Asian version of the 6590 in the U.S.
