    hi every one!
my dad was recently in hong kong and he brought me back a nokia 6280, this is seriously the sweetest phone! 2 cameras,3g you name it!
anyways... i got the t-mobile service like yesterday and i was able to start sending the mms and also go on the tzones thing(tzone is active but doesnt work because my phone is not supported for like another 3 years).. i want to be able to use the instant messenger thing and i have no idea how to set it up!

if any1 has any idea please let me know! the phone runs on the series 40 i think... i can install programs if needed too

Due to the point of purchase, it doesn't have any of the T-Mobile customizations which would include the various IM services (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ). You should go back to T-Mobile, tell them about the phone and they should have the answers for you. I've never used the instant messaging software, but if IM via the phone also uses the internet (i.e. via T-Zones), you may be out of luck until the phone is supported.

If you can't get the software on there then you'll have to get t-zones to use the internet. On the T-Mobile site they have the links for accessing IM's. You can download that to the bookmarked section on t-zones and then access whichever one you prefer from there. I hope this helps.

I also own the 6280 and they also wern't very helpful towards the im and stuff. there honest people if they had it they would give it up. Heres what I came up with ill wxplain this the best way I can.....
    1. go to settings in the menu
    2. then to configuration settings
3.then to personal configuration settings add a new im and presence
    4. for the server address put 216.155.165.050
    5. fill out the rest of the form your screen name and password
    6. for preffered access point put yes.
Try that and see if it works. best of luck to you.
