The T-Mobile website says that you get sound and video clips. Does this mean that you actually get sound with the video? Are they two different recordings? I was reading the owners manual on Nokia's web site and according to it, you cannot record sound with the video recorder. It makes a reference to the real one player for sound recording. I still was not able to determine if you can record a video clip and a sound clip at the same time and play them both back at the same time. It looks like this phone will introduce many new features like streaming audio and video. It looks pretty cool too. Can anyone answer the audio-video question? It would be a big tease to get a 10-15 second video clip with no sound. LOL I also heard a rumor about T-Mobile's version being capable of recording video clips with sound and Cingular's version not being capable of this. Was it just a rumor? Nokia only has one version of the 3650, on the web site, and it lists both T-Mobile and Cingular as providers. I believe this will be Cingular's first camera phone. Pretty cool!
cnet.com lists one of the few drawbacks of the 3650 is that you can NOT record video AND sound at the same time. I would imagine that's a tough thing to do with such limited design space and battery life/size as it is. Most reviews of the phone are coming out really good. I'm considering selling my sanyo 5300, cancelling sprint and getting it w/at&t's service for not just the camera/video but more importantly the bluetooth so it can talk and sync with my apple powerbook. Just food for thought. Cheers.
Sounds like a nice phone with many nice features. It would probably make a nice camera phone because of features like zoom. AT@T has a great price for it.
I just got this phone on Friday with T-Mobile service. To my surprise, it does record sound and video at the same time, even before the available software upgrade. I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far!
Nokia's site for the 3650, you can download software for audio w/ video. Only bad thing though, it's only like 9-13 sec of video/audio. I have a 3rd party software that does video/audio. You can do the settings for pic quality, resolution, audio, preview, & file size. I get about 30-40 sec of video/audio w/ this 3rd software. I don't know what AT&T or T-mobile are loading onto the 3650 for video/audio. Thos who own one, how many seconds of video/audio do you get? I'm trying to push for a minute, haven't quite have it figured out.
From the reviews I read, this phone does not support bluetooth headset. I think this is a big turn off for me. I enjoy the use of a wireless headset especially in the car.
If the 3650 doesn't support bluetooth headsets what the heck did they build it into the phone for? Just to say it's there? "Hey everybody, we got bluetooth! BOOYA!" I just found out it also doesn't comply with some software standards needed to sync with Apple's OS X, so it doesn't do that either! Anyone know what's going on? - Dave
was looking into getting this phone. How is the reception and such? I have a Samsung S105 and i think the reception is weak . Indoors also since its all digital. I have somtimes no signal at all and other guys phones get full bars. My friends Nokia 3360 or 3390 has great reception all the time. and the sound on this phone is weak also, its so low, even with the earpeice and goes out a lot. Ive allways liked Nokia phones the best though. I might be looking to sell my phone if I can get a good deal on the Nokia for T-moble
Does anybody think the phone is oversized? Let me know because i really like the phone and my friend wants one. is it to big or just right?
I think you have to decide that one for yourself... have you actually gotten your hands on one? Or at least a demo? Personally I think it's MASSIVE, most palm phones aren't even that big, and they're palms! But somebody must like this phone, obviously, since it went into production at all. People are buying and seem to be happy with them though... Again though I think it has to come down to you and what you think. Get your hands on one. Put it in your pocket, bag, etc. Hold it up to your ear. Then, and only then, will you be able to make your decision. Cheers.
Just to set some things straight, the Nokia 3650 does work with the bluetooth headset. There is a Nokia bluetooth headset that works with the Nokia 3650. Also, T-Mobile has the only Nokia 3650 that was loaded with software to record not just video, but AUDIO too.
I just got the phone and while I dont think that the size is a problem, the video resolution in low light is absolutly horrible. They added a night mode for the camera but not for the video, im thinking that I will be taking the phone back and waiting for something better.
There always will be something better few months down the road.. Hey Ghostrider, do you remember the name of the software that does the video? I'd buy if I have to. 30-40 sec. of synchronous video and voice sounds much better.. I have no idea where the 15 sec. limitation would come from since the phone has something like 3MB of ram to start with and then ability to swap memory cards (up to 128MB). That's enough to hold more than 15 secs. of video.
the 3650 does record sound and video at the same time you can record 10 sec with audio or 15 seconds without. you can store quite a few of these with the 16mb card that comes with the phone
i bought my nokia 3650 on ebay...and when i record video there is no sound....do i have to do a setting??? its has a logo mlife as a background...how do i change that to a pic??? does any 1 know where to download the software upgrade??
i think u will have to edit the sound after recording. i have taken a few and no sound so thats prob what it is
Alright, you already know that the video recorder on the Nokia 3650 does not initially record sound. You alos know that to make it record sound, you must download the video recorder upgrade on the Nokia website. However, this limts you to around 10 seconds of video, instead of 15 before. There is a much better program to use. It's called ETI CAMCORDER. This can record sound with the video, and can record as much video as your phone or memory card can hold. There is no time limit. However, You can set a limit if you want. As usual you will need to purchase the full version, however there is a crack for it which removes the registration bit. I'd be happy to send a copy to anyone who wants one (including the crack). Send me a line on john_w03@hotmail.com
the battery fully charged will last about 5 hours when taking constant pics. that is after taking approx 150 pics. it may be diff for others but when i used it and then sent the pics that killed the battery
