Here's the deal now: I'm on day 6 of service with Cing GSM - I selected the Nokia 3595 (actually 2 of them on share plan) I'm pretty impressed with the service itself, and Cing plans are very cost competitive. The voice quality is excellent, and coverage (for my purposes) has been better than expected. The Nokia works well, but I don't really care for the color screen....washes out in daylight.....I'm not a big fan of the keypad......just odd.......and, it's a little bigger than I'd like a phone to be. I know, I was stupid with this....should have tried a Nokia and Siemens then decided, since I have 2 phones. Basically, I was also considering the CT56 I chose the Nokia due to past success with Nokia phones mostly. I'm looking for feedback from someone who may have used the Siemens CT56 or A56 too, as they are basically the same handset. Appreciate any feedback from other GSM users. Thanks
Kinda late now.... but: I just traded in my Nokia 3595 for a Siemens A56. The CT56 has a speakerphone and a recorder to record your own sounds as ringtones or message alerts. However, I have read that Cingular blocks out the recording option, so really the only difference between the 2 phones is speakerphone. I got the A56 a couple of days ago and I love it. I've had Nokias my entire cell phone life but this is a lot better than that crappy 3595. Aside from the washout screen in sunlight, mine kept telling me I had to insert my SIM card when it was obviously in there, and dropping at least half my calls. The A56 is great.
Is this even a question? The A56 is junk. The slightly superior CT56 is junk with a whisper of a speakerphone. I sell all three of these on a daily basis and I can tell you for a fact that we've had a hundred time more problems with the Siemens phones than Nokias. A56: Cingular's cheapest phone, stores 50 contacts, no color, no voice-activated dialing CT56: Cheapest phone with speakerphone, stores 100 contacts, voice-activated, no color Nokia 3595: Costs Cingular twice as much as the A56, stores 500 contacts, voice-activated dialing, color screen We've had literally ZERO problems with the 3595. "Please insert SIM" is not considered a phone problem. You wipe of the SIM, put it in and make sure it's in there tight. The S56 and SL56 are god phones, but for the money--go with the 3595 all day long. tz
