    Hey everybody,

I have a small question slash problem with my Nokia 3589I and it has just started today. I am unable to activate the keyguard feature on my phone by pressing the left menu then star key combo. Then when I try to select the keyguard menu in my phone by going to it after I select it with the right menu key I just get dropped back to my phones main screen  the really funny thing is that I am able to select all of the other menus just fine and the key guard as worked fine up until now and I have had the phone for almost 2 years. Do you guys think this is a hardware or software problem? The only thing I can think of that has changed on my phone is that I updated my PRL's about 3 weeks ago. I am thinking it might be time for a phone upgrade.

Thanks for any help and advice you guys might be able to offer

Sorry to hear that. :( I would of suggested just turning the phone off for 30 seconds or so, then turning it back on. The same thing happened to my mom's 3390 a while back, and turning it off/on did the trick.

Is there no reset sequence or code for Nokia's CDMA handsets? On Nokia's GSM handsets (7610, N-Gage, etc.), you can enter the following codes:

Nokia Series 40 and Series 60 Reset Codes:

Full Reset: (clears everything off the phone memory!! Be sure to back up your contacts!!): *#7370#, 12345 and then Yes.

Soft Reset: *#7780#, 12345 and then Yes. (Also works on Nokia S40 phones)

    *#335738#
    *#delset#

This deletes the Email, GPRS, MMS settings that cannot be erased via phone options. (Series 40 phones only)

I'll add these to my sig.

I don't know if they will work on the 3589i.

That's a bit extreme :D, surely DarkKnight wants an intact phone :).

Yeah I know my suggestion was a bit extreme but you have to admit sometimes a hammer is the only way to go. Wink Wink
