Hello, I have a Nokia 3585i, and We went to Wyoming for vacation over the past week. The whole time out there I was not sure if I was going to get charged for roaming or not. There is a triangle in the top left hand corner. At times it was Flashing and at times it was a Solid triangle. My question is, am I getting charged for Roaming when it is Flashing or when it is Solid? Thanks for the information

Thanks for the info. I figured it was when it was flashing b/c we have a national freedom plan that covers most of the U.S.,...and we drove clear from Missouri to Wyoming and it was flashing the whole way. I just wanted to make sure though because we made a lot of calls when it was flashing. You would think that Nokia would have it where it would say when you were getting charged and when u weren't, and when u werent not even to say roaming, because for a long time we tought that when the top of the screen said ROAMING, then you were getting charged, but I guess that means you were just away from your home tower. Is there any way you can change these settings or get upgrade software to make it so it doesn't say Roaming unless you are getting charged for it? Thanks for the replies :)

If you are bascially happy with your phone do not try to change or upgrade software. Many have had their phones fried, with software updates. I do not know of any way to change the roaming indicator. If there is, however, one of the great members of this forum, will definately share it with you.

Let me, also, take this opportunity to welcome you aboard. Hope to see you often. Any questions or ideas that you may have will always be welcome. That is what makes this one of the best phone forums on the net.
