I have a nokia 3390b ( Gold ) phone from voicestream wireless which has recently decided to take on a rather annoying personality trait...it resets itself ( turns itself off and on ) randomly. For example, I might be browsing through a menu, looking through ringtones, or playing a game when suddenly the phone will turn itself off then back on again.

The annoying thing about this is that the phone resets itself at seemingly completely random times -- I can't detail a sequence of steps that can be followed to make it reset...you just have to play around with it for a while.

Voicestream, in light of this, sent me a different phone the other day and asked me to switch the battery and sim card. The funny thing is that the new phone they gave me also exhibited the same behaviour.

This leads me to believe that it's probably the battery? Has anyone had any experiences with nokia phones resetting themselves/battery problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 3390 from Voicestream & have no problem. Try calling the Nokia customer service desk for help. it sounds like its the battery.

We have a Nokia 3390 in our house and it frequently turns off by it's self.
By the way, any tips on opening the back of the phone to get the battery out?

I hold the button down with my right thumb while pulling the back to the left with my left thumb. Hope that helps!

Hey, I followed up here by searching and realize I may be digging up an older topic, but with the 3390 (got it a few weeks ago) I have been also having a tough time taking off the back. Any other suggestions? I tried doing what GSMFan said but that's not working very well, it takes forever to get it off. Please Help, Thanks!

I've got (2) 3390b's (Gold) with T-Mobile branding and they are solid as a rock. I also have aftermarket batteries.

I did experience the on/off issue with my old Nokia 6185 when I had Sprint PCS some time ago.
