The Atlantic City Boardwalk near Trump and most casinos seem to be worst on Verizon Wireless. than on other carriers. I have been in the restaurant at Trump and others could make calls, while I was getting at most 1 bar to none. Its not my VX10, there were 3 of use there with the same phones. My prior VZW digital phones also did not work well there. Also at Golden Inn, the Windrift in Avalon, goes to analog or 1 digital bar. What company works for you at the NJ Shore. In Pa. How about in Chester Brook, ( Devon, Wayne) Pa. development near 202 and 252 in Pa.? Always bad coverage. Yet ATT works well there.
There is supposed to be a PRL update around June 1st and perhaps that might help with getting a good signal there. Also, I have not used the VX-10 but how is that phone supposed to be for reception? I only ask because my old Moto 120e was terrible at acquiing a signal while my Audio 9500 has been great where the 120e couldn't make or receive calls. Suliman
The only way the PRL would help is if they roamed on SPRINT, or regardless they could just put up micro cells, I am going to call a VZW network guy to find out if he knows. Other VZW areas stink too here in Pa. I have been pointing Chester Brook and Other Phila suburbs for years, and no improvement. VZW must be spending so much on TV ads that less is spent on network. #2 The VX10 is good for reception, it is junk for quality, I am on my 5th of my own and I have 3 units on share plan. VZW CS even at the exec. level is just bad too.
Yeah, their ads are everywhere...I don't know if you watch basketball...but those "vote for the MVP ads"...couldn't they have paid a little more for a better music soundtrack to play while "test guy" is walking across the basketball court? SOunds like a Verizon porno or something.
as far as jersey shore traveling i havent been there with my verizon service but when i had cingular's tdma it worked pretty good.
I would call customer care and ask about the areas... the techs have a way to find out if it is a trouble spot and what the resolution will be. Sometimes they will open a trouble ticket for you as well.
i hope verizon is defferent with their trouble tickets. cause when cingular said they were opening a trouble ticket that translated into. " i have no idea what your talking about so ill just write this down and file it on the 14 sublevel in the basement of the cingular building in a vault encased in 30in thick steel.
jayc: I did that years ago, they just stink at the NJ shore. And CS is getting worst. I have been with them since 1989 when they were BAMS. I may go balistic over my contract and quit.
I don't have much faith...I supposedly had a trouble ticket issued...spent almost an hour on hold. Called back later in the day...no record that any trouble ticket was ever instigated. Had I not been driving I would have asked for the TT # and the tech's name. Wouldn't have done me any good since I had no way to write anything down though. Maybe if Verizon actually issues the ticket things are better, but from what I hear, whichever company you go with, trouble tickets tend to get "lost" as often as they are resolved.
Matt: There areas in Suburban Philly that stink on VERIZON yer work well on Voice Stream. and VZW aka BAMS was here first. There was also a time when they would send out a network guy with a van to drive an area. Now its BS for TV ads and rotten service.
I think so. I think trouble tickets are the providers' way of saying "we don't know what is going and we don't know how to fix it, so give us 4-48 hours and then call us back again when nothing has yet been resolved." The only time I think tt's work is when there is a huge problem and hundreds of people call to complain, then they get escalated and taken care of.
Well if you are looking for someone to make you feel better about Verizon, I'm not the guy to do it. Given my recent experiences I won't argue with you at all (poor CS, nothing seems to get resolved until the 3rd try, etc.). That's why I canceled them last week. I didn't have a single problem with their network though...such a shame because I didn't want to leave, rather Verizon made it practically impossible for me to stay.
There was something on the NEWS (TV) that cel phone contracts are the # 1 consumer complaint. Att just announced a NO contract plan. Anyway anyone with NJ shore or suburban Philly coverage info chime in please.
Matt: No one but Verizon can do that. There was something on the NEWS (TV) that cell phone contracts are the # 1 consumer complaint. A T T just announced a NO contract plan. Anyway; anyone with NJ shore or suburban Philly coverage info chime in please.

Codepyro ( WRITESunno much about nj shoire.... philly but sub urban philly works great for me....i even put my phone to digital only and i have had no problem what so ever... In Montgomery County there are holes galore, start on Montgomery ave in Merion ( near City Line) even OMNI VOICESTREAM TMOBILE works there. Gwynedd Valley everyone else is on TREE tower antenna on 202 but VZW. ChesterBrook, Chester County; ZIP, the others work there. Where are you refering to and how long have you been on VZW. As you can see its been a long time for me. nice day in PA. REGARDS
I have T-mobile using a nokia 3390 & have excellent reception in NJ, all along the GSP and in Atlantic City casinos. No problem at all inside Caesars or Taj Mahal. Usually 2-4 bars strength. Also no problem going North from Toms River up the GSP into NY.
JIM: thats what I noticed Monday in the 1 floor delli at Trump My verizon not working and others making calls. Although I got more bars on the boardwalk. have you tried T mobile along the beach in Avalon, Sea Isle or Stone Harbor?
your makin me nervous im goin to AC soon for a get away with my wife. that would blow if my phones not going to work....maybe ill get one of those antenna boosters !! j/k
Haven't been to the beach at Avalon or Stone harbor, but good reception in Seaside Heights & Cape May. Really have never had a reception problem anywhere with TMobile. I travel from Toms River north to Dutchess county NY, and south along I95 into St.Augustine Florida and along I85 in North Carolina
njsvrzncdma WROTE: your makin me nervous im goin to AC soon for a get away with my wife. that would blow if my phones not going to work....maybe ill get one of those antenna boosters !! j/k Don't worry it seems to be just some areas on the boardwalk and on low floors. It did work on the higher floors, near windows. The deli (good food) at in the dinning room and the boardwalk shops in trump ( especially) are low or NO singnal. Its been this way forever. (But other carries do work) there. I reported it long ago, the network people said they know about the holes. Also said a few months ago no plans to fix them anytime soon. Its really helpfull when people state where it works and does not. Have a nice trip.
i was referring more to bucks county...doyletown, bensalem, new town...been suing it for about a year now...i think its bucks county...but basically those cities..i've also used it in reading and potstown as well as some other citties in that area...
There is even a hole between Norristown and the expressway on THE BLUE ROUTE, 476 to non Philly people.
