if a call starts at 8:50 p.m. and lasts until 9:28 p.m. should this be 10 anytime minutes plus 28 N/W or 38 anytime minutes? alltel is treating mine as if the entire call were during the peak time.
that's what CS says also. but i've got proof on my bill that it didn't work that way for me. the times are there and the entire call was billed at the anytime rate. i've never had a billing problem before.
nope, the whole call is billed at the orignating timestamp works the other way to if you start a call in night and weekend and it goes hours in to peak
that's what my bill says. so i guess if it's 8:59 and you're calling someone who's verbose, it's best to hang up and call back after 9 or wait until you're sure it's after hours. it's surprising that the customer service personnel have no clue as to how their billing is computed. even a few of the alltel reps who post here occasionally talk through their hats. :loony:
i'm sure some of their reps know what they are talking about we all make mistakes once in while and yes, if you start in peak(anytime) and the call last till n/w ending and recalling them would be the smart thing, and oppisite true if your calling in n/w and it drags to anytime
Something must have changed, because I remember (this was a couple years ago) seeing a bill where the call spanned P/OP and the call had to 2 entries on the bill. One for the P mins used and one for the OP mins used. If it hasn't actually printed to a bill yet, I would wait and check then. Since you have been given the message that it splits more than once, you could call CS and just ask for clarification again. Also, politely point out the call detail on your bill if you are told it splits and your bill shows it didn't.
If you look on its either the last page, or next to the last page of your bill. It includes a legend that tells you what various call codes on the bill mean. One of these codes is "MP" which stands for "Multiple Rate Periods". If I am not mistaken this code will show up on call that starts in peak or off peak, and then flows over into offpeak or peak. I know on my bill they have shown up that way and you are charged for the mins that take place in peak, and then the mins that take place in off peak. You might want to check some previous bills. Especially if the numbers showed up on previous bills and either OPMM or PMM which is Off Peak Mobile 2 Mobile and Peak Mobile 2 Mobile. Also check your online account for your My Circle numbers. I know Alltel went through a final billing migraition a few months ago. If you live in a market that was converted over its possible it is a left over billing glitch, or just a billing glitch in general.
Several incoming calls right before the 7:00 PM Off Peak start time for my plan. All minutes charged as Peak call minutes. I have never noticed or looked at this as I have never went over my anytime minute allowance.
Yes, MP means the call spanned billing period. No, the system does not split that one call into multiple periods. If you have a 15 minute call listed as MP with 2 minutes during peak and remaining 13 in Off Peak, it will be billed as 15 minutes of PEAK time. No splits.
