Well, I've had my new Nextel service on the i930 for about 3 weeks now and the verdict is: Very Good!! I am in the Inland Empire area of Greater L.A. and so far the coverage has been really strong. I guessing this is because there is a Nextel tower nearby which accounts for the strong service. I've noticed that the sound quality is very clear. No dropped calls so far, but then again I haven't made too many. The Direct Connect feature is what has made having Nextel really worth it to me. I use it for work and it has worked perfectly. Yes, sometimes the garbled underwater sound happens, but not alot. DC is the biggest reason I got Nextel in the first place. I'm loving the $30 a month SERO plan.. The i930 is working out fine. No issues to speak of. The battery life is crap, but I already knew this was a problem before I got it. I turn the phone off at night and charge it daily to keep it at full strength. So far, so good. Overall I am quite happy with Nextel, which does surprise me, but then again I didn't have high expectations in the first place. We'll see how things go the next few months....
That is good to hear Mike. I love my Sprint Sero plan. Did you make sure you have the following features: Unlimited Nextel Nationwide Walkie-Talkie Unlimited web and data access Unlimited audio/image messages Unlimited email & instant messaging
Nice to hear Nextel is working for you out in SoCal Mike. My Boost phone I had worked very well in OC when I was their last summer. Also coverage out here along the river is great too. If my plans work out and Sero is still around next summer I might sign up for a Nextel Sero plan.
