New XBox?

Yep. I am getting the new Xbox 360 at midnight tonight. :smilebig:

I already have Madden NFL 2006 and Call of Duty 2. I think I might have my parents get me COD 2 for Christmas and get PDZ (Perfect Dark Zero) tonight.

It comes with a wireless controller and a bunch of other things.

I got the premium version.

I will post my review with pros and cons sometime this week in the RZ.

 

That thing...without games, insurance, etc....anything you want extra....is over 400 dollars!

I have to do homework over break too.

I am so happy....my family has been saving up for a lcd hdtv for over a year. My dad and I finally bought a Samsung 40" lcd hdtv widescreen tonight. We are thinking of upgrading to digital cable with 10 hdtv channels maybe sometime this year (if we decide to do this) (if we do, we would get $100 off our bill....basically, we would get 5 months for free). I can't wait. We get the tv on Wednesday, since it has to come from Ft. Lauderdale.

I will give everyone a full review later this week.

 

I can. But I only have to pay my Cingular bill once a month and classes (tuition, books, etc).

But I have been saving up for Xbox 360 since last December.

HDTV hasn't fully taken off here in Germany yet. Pro7Sat1 is broadcasting in HDTV on Pro7. RTL will most likely follow in 2008 once they move all of their Cologne-based channels and technical support companies (including my company CBC) to a central location in Cologne. When you get that LCD widescreen, bear in mind that it might be quite heavy. I worked an event last week where 2 colleagues and I had to set up 4 plasma TVs (3 50 cm Pioneer and 1 42 cm Panasonic model(s)). Each one weighed between 35 and 40 kg (70 to 90 pounds).

So will you try out your 360 on the Samsung widescreen ?

I saw on our NBC 5 news last night....people were wrapped around a Best Buy store all day and night waiting for midnight to roll around. Some had been out for a LONG time waiting.....and let me tell 'ya, it isn't warm around here either!

I guess there were only like 8 Best Buy stores around the country to start selling them at midnight.....and the Chicago suburb of Burbank was a lucky store to be able to sell them. They had 182 and did numbers to the people in line.

 

Yes. Once we get it and I have a chance to play it when we aren't drooling over the tv....well at least me, anways.

The lines were not out of control since there were about 35 people there that preordered it (you could only be there if you preordered it).

My local Best Buy store had about 20-25 people waiting there at 8:30 or so. I don't think they opened until 8 am the next morning (or maybe it was earlier...I don't know).

Yes. I don't drink yet (not until my 21st b-day on 1/3/06).

And yes, I was number 8 out of 33 and I preordered my system on May 15, 2005.

I love it. The graphics are awesome.

So far, I have only played Madden NFL 2006. But there are demos (free of charge ) to download off of Xbox Live.

 

I saw a report about the XBox360 on CNN International. They talked about the US' oldest console game playing woman who has her own show on MTV USA and how she was one of the first people to get the XBox like you, Gamer .

The XBox360 is coming to German stores on December 2nd. I don't know about the price yet but I would assume it'll be between 400 and 500 Euros which is about $450 and $600.

 

Yes on HD the graphics I heard are just awesome for XBox360. Call of Duty is "The Game" right now from what I have heard. It is sad that a $300 console is not backwords compatible with original XBox games. A friend of mine was able to put one on lay-a-way at Wal-Mart. He hopes to get it soon and put it on eBay. If it happens I sould make some extra money, as I am the one with the eBay account.

I think sometime yet this week or weekend, I will play it and see how it is.

I downloaded it for my laptop, so I will be able to compare the graphics.

 

I tried to find the show on MTV.com but I can't recall the title.

So far, I have not had any problems with my console...*knock on wood*.

 

The XBox360 is now available in Germany too, it's retailing for between 390 and 500 Euros depending on whether you buy it online or in a retail store. Keep in mind that the German sales tax is much higher than in the US.

At moment, it's 16% but due to be raised to 19% in 2007 thanks to Angela Merkel's new CDU-SPD government.

 

LOL, good idea if I was into gaming more. I'm after a new PC at the moment since the laptop is starting to show its age (screen flickers when I open it up).
