From what I hear, Verizon Wireless will soon introduce new AMERICA'S CHOICE SELECT Plans, which will include Unlimited Text/Picture/FLIX Messages to any network.

Individual Plans will start at $59.99 for 450 minutes, Unlimited Nights/Weekends/IN Calling, plus Unlimited Text/PIX/FLIX to any network.

Family Share Select Plans will include Unlimited Texting, PIX/FLIX to any network from all phones on the Family Share Account.
Family Share Select plans start at $99.99 including two lines, unlimited Nights/Weekends, IN Calling, text/pix/flix to any network.

Finally Verizon is starting to offer truly unlimited texting, but instead of making it an add-on like every other carrier, they are incorporating it in a new plan, which requires contract extensions for existing clients...what a sneaky way to control your CHURN.

The 3000 minute plan is already in my system though I think it was added by mistake.

Interesting. My guess is that these plans will be available in the very near future.

Well I know that I am not going to pay 100 if that is the right price.

These "new" plans will be the exact existing AC plans in all respects, plus $20 for the unlim text/pic messaging to any network.
So the $99/2 lines mentioned is simply the existing current $79 w/2 lines plan, + the new Unlim share texting.
I guess it's a good deal for those already paying an additional $5 to $10 per line for existing text options ...

I agree- for some people, like Family Share people who have, say three lines with the $10 or more package could save a lot of money and gain a lot more, BUT the contract extension is what is keeping me from signing up with this, for now. I could switch our 5 lines over to this new plan and pay the exact same, but I would get UNLIMITED texting on all lines, compared to just the smaller buckets we just have on three lines. I will not sign up for this, though, unless I renew with Verizon and get a new phone, which I am not completely sure about.

.. And some people pay $15 or more per LINE for texting & unlim IN texts , so a Flat $20 for all lines should be a great deal for many people.
I'm not exactly sure what you are saying about new fones/contract extension though ...
Your NE2 is not affected by plan/contract changes, so that's not a concern...
If you are thinking you may want to switch carriers in less than a year, then switching to a new plan is not for you right now.....
If you are looking to get a "free/discounted fone" out of the act of renewing to the new plans .. They may offer you whatever the "new Customer" fone deals are , if you renew for 2 years ..... You would have to call them once these plans are in place ...

Which $79 w/2 lines plan would that be? Isn't it the $69 w/2 lines plus $30 for unlimited texting plan instead?

So once these new plans do come out, will the extra $30 per month for family plans cover all lines (up to five lines total)?

Since the new plans say "Unlimited Text/Picture/FLIX Messages to any network", does that mean that you will also be to receive unlimited text/pix/flix from any network? Or it is unlimited outgoing only?

I don't think we will be switching to these plans. But once our contract is up, we might decide to sign up for these new plans. Who knows.

That right ... It seems to be +$20 over basic single plan fee on regular lines , or +$30 on FS accounts, for these Unlim Pic/Text all network plans...

Yeah, I am not sure if I want to stay with Verizon. I don't agree with their policies and changes, but I honestly don't have all that many places to go...IN Calling/Texting is still the main thing keeping me...and the council's phones. ;)

I'm not sure whether I'd convert to the Select plans... If my discount extended to cover the entire plan price (and not just the primary voice), I'd go for it. I'm enjoying a paltry $12 discount now; at least I'm not complaining about the service:D

yeah well Verizon used to have unlimited texting.............and they used to put a set amount of texts on their plans but they got rid of it so they could be "cool" like everyone else.............$20 for unlimited texting is outrageous...........i could get it for $15 with Sprint ad i think with some persuasion i might get it for $10........we'll see.............i have to use me good charm..........

What if I don't want the unlimited TXT/MSG/FLIX??? I currently pay $59.99 or 950 minutes and I like this plan.....when it expires and I get a new plan, can I continue to have this option? Or will it be obselete because of this new plan?

Your plan doesn't "expire". You will keep getting billed whatever your existing rates are, untill You feel you want to switch to another plan.
If you no longer want your existing rate, you are then free to choose whatever the current VZW plans are....
These Unlim text plans will co exisist with the current non text AC plans , & people can choose either.

By the way I do have some clarification on the new plans in the system. The 6000 minute plan is the only plan in my system (though I thinks it's a mistake) and yes the 6000 minutes is normally $199.99 for 1 line and $299.99 for 2 lines, well as luck would have it the new plan is $219 for a single line and $329 for 2 lines. So that does equate to exactly a $20 difference for single plans and $30 for family plans. I asked my District Manager about the new price plan codes in the system and he said he couldn't talk about it yet and don't mention it to any customers. So my question is, Andy how the hell did you hear about this?

From what I have been reading on various websites, the unlimited option says that it will now include unlimited text/pix/flix messages, and unlimited VCAST.

If the unlimited VCAST is true, and included in the new price, then the option for single lines would save a person $5 per month. I hope the VCAST portion is true. That would kick ____.

Erik, I hear the same thing, both from my sources and from various online forums. It does look like Verizon will finally starting to get a little more competitive, but one thing that they are desperate of, it seems, is to tie people back into their contracts.

That is cool. I hope this is the case. :D

If Verizon does offer VCAST (unlimited airtime and unlimited mobile web) as part of the unlimited messaging package, and they do have the prices that have been stated ($30 for all lines on a FS plan), then my family will most likely be signing up for this. :)

I have to say the $30 plan for the whole family almost sounds too good to be true, especially with UNL VCast/Mobile Web. Well, the plans are said to launch this Sunday, so we shall find out. ;)

I could care less for Vcast, but having Mobile Web capabilities would be nice to waste some time here and there. ;)

EDIT: I just talked to my friend and he is taking back his statement about VCast being included. Dang it!

Yes. I just read on Hofo that a Verizon employee (I assume he is) said that according to the marketing material they received, the plans do not include VCAST. :(

Hopefully down the road, Verizon will include an option for FS VCAST sort of like Sprint has. At least I think Sprint has something like this (at least the last time I checked they did).

oh well.............the euphoria was good while it lasted...........but it would be smart to maybe have a plan that includes all this........like an "America's Choice Ultimatem".......:)
