New v120e and v60i Ringtones

I was reading throught this forum and saw a comment about the fact that something like *3a3*3a3 could be written as *3a3a3 because the phone will remember what octave you're in. I used to this this was true as well, however I did a test. I put in *3a3a3 and had my phone play it. The two notes it played were obviously not the same note (even though you'd think they would be) I then tried *3a3*3a3 and both notes ended up being the same. After some testing, it seems that the phone defaults to octave 1 if you don't specify an octave.

So.. I hate to say this, but whoever claimed the octave stays the same, and wrote a converter that does it that way, your convertor is wrong. And whoever put in any ringtones where the user or the posted believed that the octaves were stored.. you probablly have the wrong ringtones on your phone.

That was me. And it definitely does work that way for the 331 phones, which was what I started with. Even says so in the manual. I had another user with a t720 claim the same thing, though others have indicated it works fine. I am curious how new your v120 is? And what does your manual say about octave changes?

This Whole ringtone stuff is great and I know it's kinda hard to do but...

sometimes questionare asked and aren't answered...
whoever wanted the looseyourself by eminem and reliezed it sounded nothing like the real song was right... I sounds NOTHING like the song... unless you sit anfd think about it... the problem is that it's the intro... the part that really isn't even the song yet

I relieze it is hard to make these things and know it might seem like I'm complaining but really I don't even know how to I'm just trying to help some people

I purchased my phone at the beginning of November. Its the one with the green backlight.

The book indicated that when you change the octave, it stays changed, however the book and the help on my phone for editting tones disagree with one another. And testing found that the help in my phone is correct, and the book is wrong. The help in the phone doesn't specify how long the octave change lasts.

 

Does anyone have any metallica tones or black sabbath, eminem is gettin kinda old.

 

Does anyone have any ringtones from old skool video games from the NES like Mario, Dragon Warrior, Zelda ect. any would be cool, even from different game systems. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I have updated my RTTTL-to-Motorola converter to allow the user to choose between the c331/c332/v60 and the v120/t720. For those models I have received feedback that the phone needs the octave specified for each note. On the 331 it will remember the octave, saving zillions of keypresses. Try it now and let me know if this works better. If anyone knows for sure how the c332 and v60 behave please let me know.

I can't figure out how to work these into my v120c. There is no such thing as "4" on my phone's note.

I don't have the 120c but my friend does....and I entered some ringtones for her. The 4 key is done by pressing the 1 key 4 times (I think). Otherwise just press random buttons until you find the right one (that's what I did with her's since the 120c and 120e use different composers.)

Otherwise try out this website....it's got tons of ringers specifically for your phone.

I don't know if octave's are off or what...but the few Eminem tones that I've tried haven't been all that great...so I tend to agree with you.

The only one that I know is working great is The Real Slim Shady that was posted a while back. I have that one on my personal phone and it sounds great.....

I got one of the v120e for Christmas and I'm a big Dave Matthews fan but can find many DMB ring tones, if someone could post some that would be great...

 

I'm very sad as you can see.... I posted a long time ago about two ringtones and I have had not replys... Everyone.. If you know where I can get these songs or if you have them.. Please let me know... The songs are "Still the one" by shania twain or new found glory... and the other one is "Rhiannon" by fleetwood mac... I really want these ringtones... cerlagirl, I didn't find the Logical Song...but found a couple of other scooter rtttl codes on 2thumbswap.com. If you have At n T...you can go to this website and and send ringtones directly to your phone in the form of a sms message..(the easy way ...(unless your phone is by composer keys only )


If anyone else out there....especially Rallykid! can help out with some of these that would be great.

The 1 key goes from 1-2-3 then repeats itself. I tried every key. Some keys dones't do anything and those that did wasn't able to enter 4. I have the original 120c with 2200.01.2B software/firmware.

 

I have three great ringtone ideas, but no idea where to start. I have searched all of the major ringtone websites, including mrtones.com, matrixm.com, and another one based in the UK. If anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated.

1) Curb Your Enthusiasm Theme Song
2) Insomniac (with Dave Attell) Theme Song
3) Conan O'Brian Theme Song

Sorry...I know I eventually found the 4. I thought it was the one key...but obviously it wasn't. It might have been the 0 key...

I know I just tried different keys and it just popped up...otherwise I would call Motorola and ask a customer service rep....I think you can also download the manual from their website too.
