I am totally confused... Here is my dilemma... I got 2 phones from Verizon on December 23, 2002. I live in Western PA. The phones were V120e and V60i. However, I returned the V120e on 26th and got another V60i. It had a terrible reception. The Verizon person thought it might have been a defective phone but I did not take my chances and I returned it and got V60i (even though I would have loved to have aGPS or E911 of V120).

But this e-mail is not about history of my phones: it is about ringtunes and what you can do with them. My both phones have 3 octaves (1, 2, 3), 3 note lengths (quarter, half, full), sharp and flat notes. And that is it!
And if you visit Motorola website, pick your carrier as Verizon and look at the V60i's manual (CDSM) you will see that, everytime you enter "0" you will either get a"q" or "h" or "w" (for quarter, half and full) and not "*".

However, if you pick a GSM or TDSM V60i, you will see that all those notes are available to those phones but not to the CDSM. Furthermore, if you visit Motorola V60i promotion website, you will see that Motorola boasts that this particular phone supposed to have all those lengths and octaves (and yes "0" key supposed to have functioned as it was mentioned in this group). But as I said, those features are only available in GSM and TDSM manual but not in CDSM manual.

then product demos and then pick V60i demo/manual, find ringtunes and voila... They are all there... In the demo... But not in the Verizon CDSM phone nor in my manual.

Now, I have been looking at peoples beautiful ringtunes and looking at their carriers and phones. I have noticed that people with Verizon carrier (I am assuming that Verizon is CDSM all around the country) and I see V60i users were posting all these undoable tunes. Does this mean that Verizon have certain products available in certain regions and not in the others? Or Motorola have few different products?

By the way, even my V120e did not have 8 octaves, or 8 lengths? And if you go to the manual V120e (on line) Motorola does not suggest that it is available on V120e (under Verizon carrier).

Any comments... Am I missing something very obvious?

Sorry about that. I didn't try them out. I just ran the rtttl codes through a free converter that was posted 2 pages back.

Check with Rallykid....I don't know what kind've converter he has. Rallykid always is so helpful!
