Does anyone know of any manual that has the new format? If not, can someone explain what certain characters do (* for example). It looks like maybe * denotes the octave or something?

 

All of these tones are great, but Can anyone find The Doors "L.A. Woman" for me.

 

You can call Motorola and ask for tech support and have the new page e-mailed to you. I found it easier to use the up & down arrows to look for the note I wanted.

I have written a free online converter that converts RTTTL (Nokia/Nokring) ringtones into the new Motorola format. My understanding is that it should work with most newer Motorola phones, such as 331, 332, v120, v60, and t720. The issue with many ringtones for the "Motorola" format found online is that Motorola changed the keypress commands with their newer phones so older ringtones don't work.

By they way, rallykid, I noticed the ringtones you posted have the octave set on each note...these phones will remember the octave until it's changed so that will save you lots of keystrokes. For example "Star Wars Imperial March" you have as:

*3g3*3g3*3g3*3#d4...

...and it could be:

*3g3g3g3#d4...

For the user who asked about changing tempo, Motorola doesn't seem to have that option, but my converter will try to adjust for any RTTTL tone set over 160 bpm by using faster notes (8th instead of quarter, etc.). 160's an arbitrary pick so let me know if that should change, or needs to be an option.

Hey all, uh. I just got my phone yesterday, and I love this composer thing. I've already created 2 songs, but for some strange reason I can't get the notes to play 1+1/2 like it says in the help file. for instance, if I input *4x3. it just plays it like *4x3 instead of *4x3+4. I've sort of compensated for this by doing *4x3r4 to keep the beat right, but it sounds all choppy-like. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
