I used to tease Anthromatt for getting bored of phones real quick and remember him going through at least a half dozen a year while I kept my same boring phone the whole time. Now we have a new king on the block. RJB has once again acquired a new phone and taken this to a whole new level. This time it's the RAZR! Any bets on how long he'll keep it? I'll give it 2 weeks and I think I'm being conservative with my guess. I'll be lucky to get my next new phone in March of 2008. It must be nice to be able to have a new one every other week.
LOL thanks larry. I dont even remember what I had a week ago lol. If you want to know when this streak will end read my signature.
It's odd how the RAZR has really polarized people. They either love it or hate it. Personally, I love it, though I'm a little sick of them because it seems as though everyone has one. I routinely switch among my four GSM phones (v600, v620, v3 RAZR & u6 PEBL) but I haven't gotten any new ones lately. On my CDMA line, however, I've been swapping out quite a bit. Motorola w315, Motorola K1m KRZR, LG AX8600, Samsung u520 and LG AX380 within the last six months.
I don't know how anyone with the Sprint or Verizon interface can like it. It's really slow and lags between button presses. If you're a quick texter it can drive you nuts. Add to that, having to specify what type of reply you want to do each time gets annoying. It'd be nice to set a default for that prompt or turn it off all together. Besides that it really sucks up the battery. The RAZR was a charge every night phone, the 8400 I can easily get two days on it. A charge should last me at least into the second day considering I don't break 300 minutes a month on that phone.
Now I am nowhere near the level of phone switching that he is as, but I am up there as well. In 2007 alone, I have had the a900, a900m, krzr, M1, and now the Mogul
Agreed. CDMA razors are slow as hell. I couldn't take mine anymore. The much older a900 has a better screen, way way faster, and better battery life. One time it took my red rzr well over 5 minutes to delete 50-60 texts. I hated that phone as much as my "drop every call" LG 4400.
Ha, it took me about 10 minutes the other night to delete 300+ text messages. Even then, just to do a delete all requires several more button presses than any other phone I've had. Every other phone had a simple "Delete All?" and a confirmation screen. It seems the only way on the RAZR is to do a select all, then a delete all selected and confirm that. It may be only one extra button press, but it pisses me off that such simple design elements were overlooked.
Maybe this is what you were trying to say but there is no option to have the text messages auto delete.
LOL you know one thing I should look at as well on the razr is if you look through the senior members here. Not to many have the razr lol.
Damn you're a close second to RJB. I think you might even be ahead of Anthro for the year so far. I was originally going to get one but so many people have such negative things to say about it that I decided not to take the chance. Hope the RAZR2 is better.
What about quantity of active Sprint phones? I'm up to seven just for myself. I need a action hero belt to hold them all.
Yeah it is not the everyone has one factor that I care about I just want a phone that has good call clarity and recpetion and I know this has both. I will like I sai d be in the fore front with the razr 2 and will post everything about it lol. I have heard 2 dates for Sprint either 8-19/20 or 9-3/4 so either way it is coming soon.
Geez why so many? I only have one and that's all I've ever had. I can't imagine the inconvience of having to carry around 2 phones let alone 7!
I'm sure he doesn't have to pay for all of them but still it can't be cheap to have to pay for 4 or 5 of them even.
You know after reading about the razr now I am scared to get this thing. To be honest with you though these things are small things that you either have to get used to or not. And i try to live by the expression it does not hurt to try on most things.
It is truely a despicable phone. It's just too slow. The Verizon model is slow as well, my grandmother has it. Surprisingly the VZ model seems to get decent battery life. The Sprint one is pretty bad. The Sprint Store, which is horrible store, even gave me a free extra battery because it's so bad. That has to be an indication of how bad the thing is. I am very happy with my a900m, nothing out there beats it by much. Why does Sprint get rid of advanced models (m610) so fast? Sometimes they'll keep phones for ages (a900). It's weird.
Well The M610 had problems of its own I have two of them. I can guarentee from what I have seen the battery life on that phone was alot worse than the razr. Also the recpetion and earpiece quality suck. Remember that is what I got from it. These are the most important to me Earpiece quality Reception That is about it.
