New Sprint towers in Mission Viejo & Lake Forest! Went hunting for new cell towers in South Orange County today and it turned out to be a Sprint users dream. Found 3 new Sprint towers! Mission Viejo: A new pine tree at Muirlands BL. & Alicia Pkwy. (behind the Vista Paint store) Looks like it's been running for about a month now. A new clock tower under construction at the intersection of Trabuco Rd. & Marguerite Pkwy. (YMCA Center). This one is awesome and must have costs some big $$ to build. Lake Forest: A new disguised tower located at 25791 Commercentre Dr. (between Bake & Dimension in the industrial area). This one just went live today! It looks as though Sprint is making a massive push all over So. Cal to finally get the new towers (which were approved 6 months to 1.5 years ago) built. I also have reason to belive that yet another Sprint site is going up right now in Mission Viejo at Beebe Park on Olympiad Rd. but didn't make it over there yet to confirm this.
LOL.......Larry do you drive with binoculars at the ready? Do you know if any new towers are going up in No. Cali? I am pretty satisfied with the reception my phone recieves, but there is this one spot that totally loses signal.......popeye's drive thru at Sunset & Hwy 12
lol. Yes lately I've been driving around with binoculars looking for new sites. Sorry, can't help you with No. Cali. Today I found another Sprint site going up in the city of Walnut at 390 Lemon Ave (behind the Vons center). This is another clock tower and will be shared with Cingular/T-Mobile. Looks like it's about 75% complete. According to someone I talked to at the site, Sprint has a big expansion program going on right now that will add about 20 new sites to the greater LA area by next month. I'm happy :
Since I've been posting a lot about new Sprint towers coming up I thought I'd be fair and mention that yesterday I discovered a brand new AT&T GSM flagpole antenna in the city of Placentia at the intersection of Kramer Blvd. & Bastanchury Rd (next to the donut shop). Looks like it was just completed a couple of days ago as they were patching the asphalt and grass around it.
...the city of PLACENTA? God, these Californians will name a city ANYTHING. (wink) I like the flagpole idea. Very few people are going to want to oppose a flagpole for fear of being thought unpatriotic (that's a whole other rant and we won't get into it here)...
actually, re-read that, Zaphod... PLACENTIA.. note the I in there. Yes, it's still an idiotic name, but not as bad as you first thought.
