This update will put 800 mhz CDMA roaming ahead of 800 amps roaming in certain markets. The markets vary based on which ones Sprint has agreements with. It also adds new international roaming in Hong Kong.

Call CS and have them flag your account, then just call CS back and it willdownload OTA. Also you can go to any Sprint Store which has a service department. And have the techs upload it to your phone.

Many people are reporting that this PRL does prefer digital over analog in many additonal areas. This is finally the one that us Sprint users have all been waiting for. [IMG]

The new PRL also changed the analog roaming partner where I live (Kansas) from Alltell to Cellular One. - sheureka

Interesting because I heard rumors that Alltel would be one of their new priority roaming partners in many markets with this new PRL. I guess you can't believe eveyrthing you hear.

I wonder if that means the reports of the new PRL preferring digital roaming over analog are bogus as well?

That's possible but some have claimed it has made digital roaming preferred over analog in some areas so I guess it just depends on where you are.

I still haven't got the newest PRL because I am afraid it will start to prefer analog over digital here, lol.

I've been talking to some Sprint people in various parts of the US and most are claiming that their tri-mode phones now prefer digital over analog with the new PRL. I would say it's a pretty safe bet to get the update. I haven't had a chance to try mine out yet because there's really no where left that I lose signal. I used to lose it inside of the Meryvn's store in Tustin but Sprint just put up a new tower there and I have perfect signal now.

In case anyone's interested there is a list of states posted on Howards that will now add digital roaming over analog with PRL 10021. It's quite extensive and includes California, Nevada, and Arizona (the 3 states that I travel).
