On July 29, separate pricing for SMS and MMS goes away. Here are the new plans:

    $4.99 - 400 SMS/MMS - $0.05 overage
    $9.99 - 1000 SMS/MMS - $0.05 overage
    $14.99 - unlimited SMS/MMS

Also an improved t-zones system with better graphics will cost $5.99.

Current plans will be grandfathered, so you keep what you have unless you want to change.

$14.99 for unlimited? Well, it's SMS and MMS..

These don't require a contract extension do they?

No, add-ons don't affect the contract. For people who want unlimted, $15 is not bad for both SMS and MMS.

Nope not a bad deal at all. I wonder if we can call at midnight. Does it have to be midnight in our time zone? Or the eastern time zone?

It certainly wouldn't be ET since it would not be available to people on the west coast. I'd just wait until later that first day.

I wish T-Mobile would have local numbers here. The rest of my family would move over in a heartbeat. There pricing is so much better on plan & add-ons. And the coverage is the same as Cingular for my area.

So, for example, with the $4.99 plan you can send/receive 200 SMS and send/receive 200 MMS a billing cycle without any overage? I may have to switch to that. It's only $1 more and gives me 100 more SMS plus the ability to send MMS which I probably wouldn't use much, anyway. Thanks for the update, Matt, you're the man. :)

Correction to above, I think these plans go into effect JUNE 29, not July 29.

    Glad to help out.

That's the way I read it. TM raised the lowest point of entry for the pricing, but it is cheaper than having to pay for plans for both SMS and MMS if you need it.

My manager confirmed it to me just right now. He has access to that thing that reps do to check what's coming up and stuff. So I can't wait until June 29th! 9 days and counting!
