I did mine on Nov 1 and again today after reading your 50666 post - both times got PRL 50644. Maybe Northern Virginia has a different PRL list.

Well, it actually depends on what version of AC plan your are on, (Mine was before Feb 2005, so I guess it is considered AC I, and anything after that date is AC II) Also, depends if your phone is ev-do, and something to do with the ERI.

I think the addition of ALLTEL in Wyoming is interesting. Does 1825 cover all of ALLTEL's Wyoming system?

The PRL "Number" You receive depends on your plan & type of fone.
There are eseentially 4 different "PRL numbers" for each plan:
    NON-EVDO fone w/ERI capability
NON EVDO fone without ERI capability
    EVDO fone w/ ERI
    EVDO fone without ERI
(ERI refers to the fone's ability to display "banners" such as "Exteded Network", vs just showing a roam triangle & generic "Roam" banner)
So, for most people that have an "America's Choice" plan , you will get 1 of eight possible PRL "numbers" based on your AC1 or AC2 plan ....
Nationwide, everone will get the "same" PRL as all others with the same plan/fone types.

I find it interesting that USCC is being preferred over Alltel. This happened here in Missouri and was reversed a month or so later. Makes me wonder if USCC has a better roaming deal than Alltel or if they are the same so now VZW is looking at who has the best coverage.

The customer side does roam for free. VZW just picks up the tab. Each carrier has their own roaming deals with eachother. Some are better than others though and that's why some carriers are marked as NEG in the PRL They cost Verizon to much to allow customers to burn up minutes on the other companies network. Then there are others are almost always preferred if their available such as Alltel and US Cellular.

Yes, but when he said USCC was "Preferred" over Alltel, he meant that in that particular area mentioned in the PRL interpretation, a fone, after losing a VZW signal, would 1st look for a USC signal Before attempting to find an Alltel signal .. Both are roam "free" to the user, & this does not effect how a VZW fone roams on Alltel in other areas.

In most markets this is true, but for some reason VZW does not get free roaming from Alltel in AZ, CA and a few other markets for some reason.
So it is true 95% of time VZW can roam on Alltel and Alltel can roam on VZW free to the end user.

I find it interesting that appearantly a good bit of carribean coverage has been added and into south america. I'm sure this is roaming area (.69 min) but at least the hand set will work there
