PRL version 10014 is now available as of 12/27 for most Sprint phones. You can call *2 and ask Claire to have your PRL updated. You will then speak to a rep and ask to have your phone flagged for an over the air update. Make sure you specifically ask for the new 10014 version or they might give you 10013. Then call *2 again and follow the instructions and the update should work.

That is a lot more complicated then Verizon's system. I just dial *228, select option 2, and it downloads the most current PRL to my V120C, ends the call, and voila!, I have a new PRL. Don't need to know any version numbers. I am surprised to hear Sprint's takes longer than Verizon's.

I know, they can and should make it an easier process.

Ok the new 10014 PRL for Sprint gives you the ability to digital roam in South America and Hong Kong. Other than that you don't need it.

My v120c already has PRL 10013. So, since I won't be going overseas, that I know of, I don't need this update?

    What is the PRL for?

It's a list of roaming partners and towers that Sprint has agreements with or access to. PRL 10013 is all you need.

You should be on PRL 10015... On your handset, navigate to the display option and check your PRL... If you are not on 10015, dial *2, tell Clarie "PRL update", you should be forwarded to someone who can either flag your phone for upgrade (next time you dial *2 you'll be told you need and upgrade and it will be done OTA (over the air)) or they will perform the update while you are on the phone with them...

I traveled to Virginia (from NC) this past weekend and my Sprint PCS phone didn't have service. After several calls to Sprint customer service and finally getting mad I was told that I needed to update my PRL. But I couldn't do it until I went back to NC. Now home in NC it still will not download the new PRL "over the air". I'm told that I have to drive 45 minutes each way to the nearest Sprint PCS store...how convenient!

    Not a happy PCS customer!

You should definetly be able to update a Kyocera 2255 over the air. I have done it twice already with no trouble.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO SACRIFICE SOME TIME... SHEESE YOUR NOT GOING TO DIE.. WHY DO YA'LL MAKE SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT... ANYWAYS, IF YOUR PHONE ISN'T GETTING AT LEAST 3 BARS OF SIGNAL AND I MEAN, THE LITTLE ANTENNA ONE, AND 3 EXTRA BARS, THEN YOU WONT BE ABLE TO DO AN OTA CONNECTION. AND YOU CAN'T BE MOVING AROUND EITHER.. UPDATE LIKE THAT NEED YOU IN A SATIONARY POSITION WITH GOOD SIGNAL... IF YOU HAVE TRIED 3 TIMES AND DOESNT WORK.. YOU ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS THE STORE. JUST SUCK IT UP AND GO IF YOU WANT IT THAT BAD.
