20227 is scheduled to be released OTA on Friday. It adds EV-DO roaming support in at least one market.
Ok someone is reporting that the new PRL will also be the big one we've all been waiting for. EV-DO on Verizon. We'll see tomorrow.
Can anybody confirm this yet for EVDO on verizon? Larry is a new PDA with Data Triangle being released too? I finally got to see Alltel EVDO roaming yesterday while traveling....SWEET!!
Accounts are never automatically flagged each time. You have to call in and ask to be flagged. Sometimes they randomly auto-flag certain accounts but only once in a while and not for every PRL that comes out.
thats depressing.........you would think if the aim of PRLs is to save money then they would make sure that it would be easy for customers to get them and there wouldnt be aprocess...........someone needs to call customer care and in the process they get their update...........anyone have any ideas why Sprint doesnt do this..........opinions???...............guesses???
It's been talked about for years every time a new PRL is released. There are some theories going around but nobody can really say for sure why they don't make the process easier.
Thanks for the heads up Larry. Hope the Verizon EVDO is true. I will email CC in a few days to flag my Treo. Any word on a new PRL for the M1 & Q (606XX)?
well i roamed on Verizon and used EV-DO but after a few minutes of an idle data connection.......it reverts to 1xRTT
Hi! Can someone post the PRL file please? I can't get anyone at Sprint who even knows what a PRL is. Thanks
Hey Budney I was actually in Laughlin for the the first time ever a couple of weeks ago. Stayed at the Ramada. Also made it to the AVI resort. Great Sprint coverage everywhere I was.
You should of PMed me to get together. I work at the Riverside and live down by the AVI. Sprint dose have wonderful service throught the area. For the network quality, data speeds, & price Sprint is the only choice in town.
Pannels are located on top of both towers of the Ramada, I believe one of the sets iis Sprint's. Also their are panels on top of the Colorado Belle across the street. I did post pics in the Cell Site area if you want to take a look.
Bogus. It takes 30 seconds to install the PRL file to a data card. It never takes less than 10 minutes dealing with Sprint CS/TS. You first have to get through a screener who knows what a PRL is. Can anyone find PRL file 60608 in a location from which it can be downloaded?
Just to let everyone know, the new style PRL with the triangle instead of the roaming icon also lets you know that you are internationall roaming. When in Canada, my phone displayed "INTERNATIONAL", where as the old style would just say DIGITAL ROAM. This is a nice help for anyone in a boarder area.
That is not a bad idea at all! Funny how some carriers (Sprint) enable more, better Alphatags on their phones and other carriers *cough*Cingular*cough* limit Alphatags...
They should all be like T-Mobile, and actually show which carrier you are on. But now while roaming with sprint, the only thing that gives it away is the little triangle. It still shows SPRINT when making a call.
