Well we got a memo about 2 week ago i guess saying that once we sell out of the Moto 710's, Moto 265's, and the Nokia 6255 that we would not be getting anymore because they are going end of life. My question is, what new models are going to replace these phones and when?
I hope so, because our display is looking kinda empty now. Why would they discontinue the 265 before the 262
The 262 is popular with people who are not allowed to have a camera phone at their workplace. The other non-camera phones in the lineup are not as strong in the reception department.
Yeah that makes sense. I don't know why they would stop making two of their best phones though, the 710 and 6235
I never liked the 265... I know it's supposed to be the same phone as the 262.. but it's just not... I guess the extra software to run the camera was just too much. I like the e815 a lot... all the same accessories as the 710. I'm wondering about that full retail price, though... it's kinda low... refurb 710 for 199.99 or new e815 for 209.99?
The price is lower because production costs are lower... the v710 and e815 are almost identical physically, so it costs less to produce if you figure that they've been producing the parts for the v710 and the e815. The 14-year old Chinese girls putting them together are more efficient since they've been doing it for about two years, now.
I know the production costs are lower, but it doesn't make sense to continue to sell the older product "certified" at a similar price to the "new and improved" model... 710 pricing for certified should have dropped with phase out... I guess it's not really affecting me at all one way or the other, it just seems silly. :loony:
