It is time for our contract renewal. We are in need of phones that play music we can upload and a camera. We are looking at the lg-vx8300 or maybe one of the other vcast phones. Can you play your own music on any phone as long as it is a vcast phone, and if so what do we need to get set up to do that? (usb cable, software, ect?). Sorry if the question seems silly :) We currently have 2 Samsung A670 and our daughter has the lg-vx 5200. We have the new every two...or at least the primary line does...didn't know that till today when I went online. For some reason I always thought it was on all the lines.

You might want to check out the LG Chocolate phone of which you can use your NE2 and get for $49.99 instead of $149.99, plus you can get up to 3 LG VX5200's for free, according to the VZW site. Check their site out and read up on the Chocolate phone, it might be just what you are looking for.

The Chocolate phone is nice but I seriously like the 8300 better. The 8300 supports A2DP so you can use bluetooth stereo headphones, plus the camera actually has a flash (the Chocolate phone does not). Also, the chocolate phone lacks a speakerphone. By default, I don't think the 8300 has mp3 support enabled, so you'll have to hit Menu, then 0, then six zeroes and scroll down to the option to enable mp3 support.

Thanks alot for the tips. I just read your post and am glad I made the right decision yesterday. I wasn't real impressed with the Chocolate when I was looking at phones. I got myself, husband and daughter all vx8300 phones. Nice to know about unlocking the mp3 feature. Thanks alot!

any phone that is dual-band/tri-mode will get you the best coverage......i think that the chocolate is all-digital and will not give you access to bands other than 1900 and will not give you access to any analog roaming.

You need to change your devices to 8300 instead of 670

I will as soon as I know for sure that I'm keeping the phone. I haven't even turned in the rebate yet..don't want to destroy the box for the UPC code and then decide I don't want it...

i agree with the posts about the lg vx8300. i spent weeks researching and testing every phone verizon has to offer. the vx8300 won and now that i own it, i loove it. i would recommend it to anyone and could provide a hundred reasons why you should also purchase it.
