I am a Verizon customer thats eligible for upgrade late June. However, I plan on purchasing either the LG Dare/Samsung Omnia/Blackberry Curve off eBay.

I currently own a LG Chocolate 2, and am wondering, does the LG Dare require a data plan [an extra fee] on top of my voice/unlimited text plan? The Omnia and Curve definitely do as far as I'm aware

    Sorry for the stupid question

As far as I can tell, a data plan is not required for the Dare. You can pay per MB or block all data. If you are not on a Nationwide Plan, you will have to switch to a Nationwide plan to get the Dare.
