I was thinking about getting the Photon until I read about Sprint's future plans today. If they're really going to start rolling out LTE mid 2012, I may just wait. I'm not in a WiMax area (Clear stopped at the border of Queens and Nassu County), so all I'd be getting is a nicer phone and an extra $10/month on my bill. My current phone's a little slow, but I could probably reflash it and remove some apps to take car of that. Also, waiting another year would get my wife and I on the same renewal schedule and if we choose to change carriers, we can do so together.
EvdoA test from a tower 4 miles away from me. It's the best one I've seen yet for 3G Test Date: Oct 9, 2011 9:36:42 am Connection Type: EvdoA Server: Los Angeles, CA Download: 1871 kbps Upload: 909 kbps Ping: 100 ms External IP: 66.87.66.128 Internal IP: 21.3.210.128 Latitude: 33.79154 Longitude: -117.80748

Nice! Did you get the latest OTA firmware update that came out last week without any glitches? A lot of people were complaining about problems downloading/installing it or problems with data not working afterward. My update worked great but it did take a while for my 3G and 4G data to begin working after the update.
Oh I had glitch! Couldn't get the update to take, kept failing. Thanks to XDA I was able to flash to a older ROM, and install a prior update OTA. Then the new update OTA went smoothly.
Really liking it! The receiption (including 4G) & call quality are awesome. Menus, OS & apps are very responsive. GPS actually works. So much better then the Epic & Charge I had before. Also if I would of had this phone on my trip to Eugene in May, I would of never switched to Verizon.
Still enjoying mine as well! Like Budney said there's no lag when doing any of the functions which is nice. RF is great too.
