I am wondering what cell service provider you currently use & your option on the company.

I don't live there, but I travel there several times a year. Without question, Alltel is tops in NM for coverage. Verizon is 2nd, but not a very close 2nd. For where I go, there is no 3rd choice, however, Sprint could work because of their superior roaming capabilities (or Qwest if you wanted a discount 'bundle'), and T-Mobile is close behind that.

AT&T, Nextel and Cricket are unusable for those of us who spent most of our time (in NM) away from cities. Here are links to all the NM carriers.

My sister has one of my lines in Albuquerque and I visit fairly frequently. She doesn't seem to have any problems using Sprint - and does quite a bit of wandering around the northern part of the state. She does roam on Alltel in some areas outside of town, but I don't think she's ever had a problem with that either. New Mexico until fairly recently was a Sprint "affiliate" and Sprint's been a little slow bringing those areas up to speed. But Sprint's coverage in New Mexico is light years better than it was even just a few years ago. - sheureka
