Actually, jones, inform yourself before posting crap about Verizon, check the PRLs and you will see that Alltel was/is in the PRLs.

If VZW Crap it's Big Crap.

This does Not Mean VZW is in all Towers of Alltel.
    That's why it's called PRL.
You have a misunderstanding of PRL.

I didn't say that Verizon users will be able to roam on all Alltel towers, but, Verizon and Alltel have a statewide roaming agreement in Florida, FYI, so in this case, yes, a Verizon user will be able to use all Alltel towers in the area.

Now you're running out of arguments because
I proved your point wrong; In my posts,
I realized that his VZW phone didn't work
at home, even though VZW has a roaming
agreement with Alltel, and he now has an
Alltel phone which works just fine at home,
which has me wonder IF Alltel's good
service at his house is just a recent
    addition, because his VZW phone
should have roamed on Alltel. I wasn't
trying to defend Verizon; they didn't work
for him, Alltel does and I'm glad; I was just
trying to figure out why his phone didn't roam.

Re: I had VZW now it's Alltel

Thank you both for trying to figure this all out for me! The phone that I had was about two years maybe three years old when I stopped using VRW. It had the way to use the phone when it was on an older version I believed called Analog. When it was on analog I could make calls out using both VZW and Alltel towers. Yet when I wanted to call customer service I got Alltel instead. When the phone went into Digital mode I couldn't call out at all. Not to anybody. Not to friends. Not to customer Service because the calls would get dropped. The cell phone was only able to be in analog for part of the day and not for very long at that. So if I wanted to make calls out I always had to wait for a time of the day and to do it quickly! I never knew how long my doorway of using the phone was going to be. When I would call VZW on a regular phone  I always got the same answer. We are working hard for you yet they had no idea as to when they would be adding a tower in my area. The nearest was about 6 miles away. Like I sais before they told me I was living in a "Pit Area", and I got to think it was the Pits for me to keep paying them over $60.00 a month and not being able to use the phone! I know that both of you have your best interest for me, but the fact is that VZW has failed for me and to others here in Citrus County. Why else would Cell stores quit selling VZW? Poor Service. Thanks again.

Re: I had VZW now it's Alltel

You are welcome; as I said, I wasn't trying to defend Verizon in my posts, I was just curious why your Verizon phone would not roam on Alltel(if alltel had good service at your house back then), since Verizon and Alltel have a statewide roaming agreement.

Re: I had VZW now it's Alltel

Andy all I can say is what was told to me from a salesperson from "Charles Pope Cellular" where I got the Motorola V710 cell phone. They once sold VZW phones and service but quit because they (VZW) didn't want to expand in the rural areas. Again Thanks for all the help on this thread. I made my decision and got Alltel now and I'm past my 15 days. Happy with it and getting and making calls. I got a lot of responce back here from this thread. I hoping to get the same in a thread I asked about in the "Ringtone Thread" and haven't yet. Need to know where I can get some good ringtones and find out how to make my own on my Motorola V710 cell phone. Hopefully that thread will serve me like this one did. Again Thanks again.

If the old phone was going into analog mode, if Verizon is pcs only in the area, that's why you kept getting routed to Alltel, as there is no analog on pcs.

Alltel sounds like a great option where they serve, for the most part.

100% agreed-you usually only hear good things about them.

Thomas, I'd help you with your ringtones, but I don't really have too much experiences. For my LG phone I use a program called bitpim to transfer ringtones/wallpapers/contacts,etc. from my computer to my phone, but I'm not sure if that works for a moto. Getting ringtones off the internet can be tought-I got a bunch of ringtones of limewire(it was a package with like 150 ringtones on it).
    Hope this helps,
    Andy
