I am STILL crying over the loss of my beloved StarTac. My LG 3200 is OK and has served me well, but it's just not the same...... The V265 seemed OK at the store, but no StarTac replacement. I understand from these forums that the Motorola has much better reception, but the software and functions of the LG are better?
Any chance that Motorola is coming out with a newer basic tri-band phone or is the 265 it?

    Thanks.

I have heard that around Christmas, Moto is coming out with a new phone, it's not supposed to have EVDO, but I'm not sure if it is tri-mode, nor do I have any other information on it. Don't hold your breath though, I'm not sure how reliable my information is.

Remember when there were rumors about the Startac 2004 from Korea getting released here? I'm sure many who have the original Startac and Timeport would buy it for nostalgic reasons. Maybe Motorola will release it for a 2006 or 2007 model? :lmao:

I have a TimePort working as my car phone. It stays connected to the car's onboard system and it receives incoming calls that are forwarded from my cell phone. I keep the actual number of the TimePort secret so no one calls it directly. Works great.

What new phone are you speaking of? Other than the V276 and the E815 with Music on Demand there are no new Moto phones coming out for Verizon any time soon.

Oh yeah there is also the V323/V325 coming out too, but again nothing in the short term.

For those who are curious, the CEO of Moto all but confirmed what I posted awhile ago while on the Mad Money TV show. He was asked about the upcoming ROKR E1 with iTunes phone and the "RAZR Blackberry killer". Monday night they will both be unveiled.

Motorola seems to be getting on the ball with the release of all these handsets. I read that there was in article in the WSJ on friday that they are pushing VZW for a 4th quarter release regarding the RAZR.

Any idea how long for the V323/V325 ?? And I'm sure you'll post the link on the "RAZR Blackberry killer" when it's unveiled right??

  11. do they not have the V262? Eloqui has that, as a matter of fact thats the phone I got for my son (Darryl II... for real) on Eloqui. From what I understand its a pretty nice tri mode phone and I believe verizon carries it.. or one like it.

Or perhaps Moto got smart and realised the Startac 2004 would be the best selling phone of the year if they released it for a month.
