Has that varied by market? In the Chicago market....my phones have always said Cingular.....not Cingular Wireless. I have always been on orange....
Cingular Blue for me says AT&T Wireless, and for Gideon up the road 100 miles, it says Cingular on Blue....I am starting to think it has to be because of my phone...
You are in the old TMo/Cingular deal area right? Apparently the tag has not changed out in CA either, so it probably has to do with the agreement between the carriers.
I've heard Cingular will be replacing "Cingular Extend" and "ROAM" or "Roaming" with plain old "Cingular" (this will be displayed while roaming or not), that would be no fun then I couldn't see if I am roaming or not. Also heard that with Orange SIMS, if your on a Orange tower it will display "Cingular" but while on a Blue tower it will display "Cingualr Extend" then if not on the ALLOVER Network a.k.a. the Blue & Orange Network it will display "ROAM" or "Roaming" Is this true or not?!? Thanks, Cingular GSM User
In the New England market, my phone read "Cingular Wireless" when I would be on an Orange tower. It's also the same in Texas based on my experience. And I know you would go that extra mile there Tadlock .
My phone only displays "Cingular" here in CA on my Orange account, my friend who uses T-Molibe as his carrier shows "Cingular Wireless" on his unbranded unlocked Razr...
