I just ordered a new phone offline and I'm a little confused. It says that it has 'No Service'. I think what I need to choose the correct Network, but in order to do that, I need the 'Network ID'. I'm not sure where to find it. I have AT&T/Cingular. I live in Illinois. Can someone please help me figure this out?
The network ID should be 310-410 but with your SIM card in the phone it should automatically log onto ATT's network. Is this phone branded to a carrier, or is it just a stock Motorola phone? also, exactly what model phone do you have there might be helpful as well. -Jay
I have the same problem. The model is a motorola v70. It lists 22 networks. It shows a title until I hit "view." (what "view" shows). Once view is selected, edit becomes an option. 1. Cingular (310-410)- designated as home 2. USA-030 (310-030) 3. 901-18 (901-18) 4. USA-830 (310-830) 5. USA-030 (311-030) 6. USA-080 (311-080) 7. USA-100 (310-100) 8. USA-890 (310-890) 9. USA-950 (310-950) 10. USA-090 (311-090) 11. USA-040 (311-040) 12. USA-450 (310-450) 13. Westlink Comm (310-340) 14. Epic Touch (310-610) 15. USA-320 (310-320) 16. 123-56 (123-56) 17. 123-56 (123-56) 18. 123-56 (123-56) 19. 123-56 (123-56) 20. 123-56 (123-56) 21. 123-56 (123-56) 22. 123-56 (123-56) I used to have a phone similar to this years ago. When my current phone broke, I bought this one for nostalgia. I was told it was an unlocked dual band GSM. All it ever says when trying to connect is "No Network Available." Any help would be appreciated.
Are you sure it's dual band? Unless there is more than one version of the v70, the one that comes up on Phonescoop (Motorola v70 Specs, Features (Phone Scoop)) is a single band 1900mhz phone. Since your carrier is AT&T, it's likely your area is 850mhz only. It would make sense your phone would not find an available network. I believe AT&T uses the 310-410 MNC, but I can't tell you for sure, as I've not had AT&T in a few years. One of our other members with AT&T can chime in with this info.
Under Settings - phone status - Other settings - Technology - the phone says it's dual band GSM. Also my keypad is black not gray. My old one was gray. It does the same thing. I can get it to turn on but only while plugged in. Mine doesn't say "T-Mobile" at the bottom, only "V70"
You may very well have the European/World version that is dual band 900/1800mhz, which means it has none of the proper frequencies for North America. Motorola V70 - Full phone specifications Apparently the AT&T and T-Mobile versions were single band 1900mhz. Even if there was a dual-band American version (with 850/1900), it apparently isn't the one you have or you'd be able to connect to the AT&T network. Anything I've found on this phone in searches shows the same thing, the American version was single band.
