We just got a new car equipped with uconnect phone. We need a cell phone too, so wanted to get one that is compatible. I found a list online but it's already obsolete, listing phones that AT&T doesn't handle anymore.

Of course it has to be Blue Tooth, but truly I don't want the camera etc. I don't even want the music. I'm definitely a Senior Citizen and I just want to make (a lot) of calls and be able to pair it with the uconnect system to have Hands Free capability. :)

Can you help??? I'd really appreciate it.

If the primary feature needed is Bluetooth, there are a lot of options on the AT&T site. If you want to be on contract with AT&T, there are quite a few "free" (with a 2 year contract) phones, like the Nokia 6085, or 6555. Both those Nokia's have advanced features, but that's a standard in phones today.

I recommend a Nokia because of their reputation for excellent signal quality. I'm very happy with my Nokia 6555. There are other free (with a contract) phones from Samsung, LG, and Pantech, but I do not like or trust cheap Samsung and LG phones. I've never had a Pantech phone so I couldn't tell you anything about them.

One nice feature on the AT&T site is user reviews viewable for all phones. This will give you a better idea of how other users like/dislike their phones.

Your only other option is Prepaid phones, but they will cost a small amount, and there's no guarantee Bluetooth is an available feature.

AT&T's site is the place to check.

I took your suggestion for compatible phone with uconnect

I ordered the Nokia 6085 online (upgrade for our existing) and it arrived in a couple of days. Alas, it would not charge - defective battery I guess. We plugged it in for 5 hours and nothing ever appeared, so we have returned it.

I was hoping to find a plain phone with Blue Tooth capabilities - I have a camera and an iPod and just need the cell phone! I found out that isn't possible anymore. But we didn't like the Nokia - it wasn't near the phone that we have now (old Nokia Singular) with larger buttons and great interface.

So I guess we'll go to an AT&T store (about an hour away) and look before we order another model.

    Thanks for your reply.

There is no need for an AT&T store really. Just find a local best buy, authorized retailer, radio shack, anywhere really.
