Brand new to the forum! I am a complete neophyte – I just use me telephone to make voice calls and keep track of my schedule on the colander feature.

My Alltel Razr V3M went for a swim today. Alltel informs me that they have no V3M phones in stock and will no longer be supplying the V3M. I have a ton of contact information that is formatted for the V3M (backed up on my computer with Motorola software) and need to replace the phone. I am aware that I need to replace the phone with an Alltel CDMA device.

Now, finally, my question: I see a number of phones advertised for sale in the internet. What information on the specific device should I have before purchasing. For instance I am not really interested in buying a “hot” phone.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Can the contact information be exported?

The contact information is stored on my desk top computer in the Motorola phone tools format so I suppose that the answer is that I should be able to export it to another V3M.

The V3, V3M and V3C were all phased out at least a year ago. If you can find another phone that will work with your Motorola software you might get lucky.

You might also check out places like ebay - you likely would get lucky and find another V3M there
